Austin Collinsworth had 45 receptions for 793 yards and 5 touchdowns. I understand name recognition means a lot. But on the other hand, some people will never give him credit because of his name. It is definitely a double edged sword.

 

I saw Collinsworth play and he is the real deal and I hope to see him in a UK uniform. I think what people are saying had he played in a rural area of the the state, he would have not got a look with these numbers even though he is a legit D1 player and deserves the award.

Maybe the AP should just start doing all state teams by classes and then everyone will be happy, BUT I doubt it.

Congradulations to Hoptown's Victor Moulden. Victor caught 55 passes for 1,220 yards and 14 TDs. He broke every school receiving record in two years. He played against some good competition the last two years which help him get notice by many people and schools. Moulden has 3.7 GPA and has already qualified and should keep playing at the next level.

I agree with you Hoot. I can't believe that he wasn't at least honorable mentioned.

Johnson Central had three players named as honorable mentions - a reasonable number, IMO - but the leading rusher on the state's (nation's?) leading rushing team merited at least a mention.

Hard to believe that the best running back ever at Trinity, last years State Finals MVP who is having another outstanding season on another great Trinity team in his 3rd championship game is not even 2nd team AP All State. I know Tim doesn't care about individual awards but come on, to leave him out cheapens it for those who are listed, in my opinion.

 

:thumb: Phillips is a proven All State player.

Harlan County and Rockcastle County shutout in the AP. I know I'm biased but c'mon not even one, there were some exceptional playmakers that contributed over 3 years on both of these teams.

I thought Gilliam, the running back from HCHS should have atleast been honorable mention. I in no way like or cheer for Harlan, I'm very close to the Harlan/Bell border, but in no way cheer for them, but I do beleive Gilliam atleast deserves some credit.

Way to go DJ as well. I enjoyed coaching you as a Bearcat in grade school. You're a great kid and hope you end up at UofL. Coach W.

In my opinion the biggest name not mentioned is Scott Radcliff. This kid played both ways for Trinity and put up some pretty good numbers. This young man has the ability to play at the next level. Congrats on a great season!
