I didn't, but I liked WKRP, Barney Miller and Taxi. I also thought there was no way Bryan Station could come close to beating Highlands in a first round game. Strange days, indeed.

Simon Kenton is having a great run this year but Highlands is Highlands. After 7 games the Pioneers were 3-4 including a 22 point loss to New Cath and a 35 point loss to Boone County. Highlands' last loss to a northern Kentucky team was to Cov Cath in the last regular season game of 2006 (and again in the playoffs to Cov Cath two weeks later). Before that the Bluebirds had run the table for several years in northern Ky. Somebody refresh my recollection as to the last time Highlands lost to a northern Ky team by 35 points. Highlands is the best team in northern Ky this year, by far.

They'd be sitting at home this Saturday evening or buying a ticket to the final game. Ballard and Eastern would have given the 'Neers fits. You put Male away with two TDs in the final three minutes of the game. The Bulldogs were simply not that good this season.

 

The fourth place team from Trinity's district, Seneca, has a Division 1 QB. He is a sophomore and was offered by Illinois last week.

 

Talent was the reason for the district sweep over Western Ky 6A.

There is a difference between supporting your team (or a team in your area) and spewing irrational opinions. I am reminded of a NKY poster 2 or 3 years ago who in advance of his team's state final against Trinity maintained that their star running back could change directions in mid air. (I also recall that LSURock had fun with that one.)

In view of the fact that perhaps SK has not met a Defense of T's Caliber - I think I would be a bit more circumspect in my predictions. I hope this young man can live up to all the pre-game billing and expectations.

 

And I do not question for one minute his ability or accomplishments.

I voted for T. I am not a private school supporter. If I had voted with my heart, I would have voted SK. I just cannot see SK beating T. Quite honestly with my heart I would pull for any Public school over any Private school. So, I refuse to make decisions with my heart. I believe that Highlands is the best team in NK. I believe that SK did a good job getting to the finals. Congratulations, I would love for you to dethrone the T. I just can't see it happening. Sorry.

SK is not the best team in NKY, Highlands is. No secret, duhh. And Trinity is better than Highlands IMO. So common sense would say that SK is going to get kicked by Trinity. But some of Trinity's fans seem super overconfident and if that is how the team comes out then I sincerely hope SK takes advantage and takes it to them. Anything can happen and SK CAN be the best team on the field that night and that is all that matters.

Better question, can Miles Simpson pull off the upset of the year just like his dad David of Newport did against Highlands in 1980. For those of you who dont remember, Miles dad David came into Ft.Thomas against a #1 ranked HHS team that nobody said would lose and ran all over them for something like 300+ yds and denied the Birds a probable state championship that yr. I have not had the chance to see Miles play this yr but if Son is like Dad who played with a heart of a lion then Trinity might want to take notice and beware of a repeat nightmare.:cry:

I believe it was 209 yards. I just wish William Slaughter didn't break his ankle in practice that week! This forced David Simpson to have to run the ball more. What a nightmare.
