icon1.gifIs Simon Kenton the best team in NKY?

Lot of talk in the 6A thread from some of the NKY faithful about how much Simon Kenton has improved over the past few years and is poised to dethrone Trinity? Many NKY fans opine that this will be a close game and could go either way. Can/did this SK team compete with the perennial powers from NKY? Perhaps this is the best NKY 6A team since 1994. I haven't seen them play so thanks for the input.

To answer the question, not even close. Highlands if by far the best team in NKY.

I do agree with some members from the 1st thread that Simon is really rolling and they are in the ballpark with NCC and Beechwood.

I will also say it is a disappointment to see why some members on the site vote for who is going to win the game because they are obviously not voting for who they think is going to win the game. If anyone wants to have a warm and fuzzy thread about a team by all means start it, but if the poll question asks you to vote for the winner it would be really nice to get an honest answer instead of members voting along "party lines."

With all that said, this has been a tremendous year for Simon but the party ends this week. My gut feeling says 2008 Simon is a small step down from 2006 Ryle and that is bad news for the Neers.

Now that is a post I can believe is genuine.

OK - I voted how I felt. SK is on a roll. How does anyone know they can't win. It's been stated before in previous playoff games other teams couldn't/wouldn't win.

There is a difference between supporting your team (or a team in your area) and spewing irrational opinions. I am reminded of a NKY poster 2 or 3 years ago who in advance of his team's state final against Trinity maintained that their star running back could change directions in mid air. (I also recall that LSURock had fun with that one.)

You're right. I should be publicly scourged for standing in the way of science.

Think. Want. What difference will it make Saturday night?

Speaking for myself (and I would assume, many others) I voted for SK because I believe this is a year that they can win it. Hopefully, the Pioneers understand (and believe) that they CAN win this game. It won't be easy...or likely...but it most certainly can happen.

I agree.

I voted for X last week because I really felt they were going to win and where did that get me.

So, based on your thoughts and vote nobody should vote for SK because if they are it is along party lines?

No.. Simon is the hottest team in NKY..

Well said good sir! :thumb:

SK - great story.

ZERO chance of coming close to T.

Still doesn't change that its a great story.

Anything can happen on any given night. Look what T did to X this past week:fight:!!!! There is a reason you play the game. Whoever comes out and plays the best wins!!! I guess Sk just shouldnt even make the trip to Louisville because it sounds like T already has the trophy and having their post Championship pep rally? Come on SK shock the world and shut all the Louisville people up!:fire:
