Apparently Quainoo's speed was too much for SK, but SK's Defense shut him down. And I think they will do the same for Green. I'm going to say Simpson is the better RB in this game. Let's see if Male's Defense can contain him. :thumb:

 

I think Miles will have to play safety in this game along with RB. It seems like every touchdown scored against the defense was when 21 was playing safety. Miles has much better speed and knows how to use an angle alot better.

Simply looking at the way that Male has dominated M. Central and Scott County the last two weeks makes me think it will be a long night for the Neers. Best wishes to our local team but I see Male by 4-5 TD's.

I have already said congrats to SK and best wishes to them in this thread. Do I need to predict them to win for you to be happy? Be realistic. Madison Central, Boone, Scott Co and SK are very equal teams. If you think SK is better than Boone, they were on this one night - barely. Male dominated MC two weeks ago and then dominated Scott Co at Scott Co. Get back with me if SK pulls the upset or even comes close in Louisville this weekend. Best wishes to the Pioneers. As a HS Sportscaster, I'm always driving on Friday nights...the worst time to be near an urban center. Pioneer fans, I wouldn't take I-71 south to I-65...instead, take I-71 to the Watterson Expressway (I-264), take the ramp onto I-264 and follow to the Preston Highway exit. At the end of the ramp, go LEFT, and Male will come up on the left very shortly.

 

Either way is chock full of traffic, but you DON'T want to be taking I-71 south all the way into Louisville proper, where it intersects I-65 southbound.

 

Good luck to both teams... Male is playing AWFULLY well...kudos to the Bulldogs and Coach R...I thought they were ripe for an upset in either of the first two rounds, but they've shown that they are hitting their stride...

 

SK is this year's poster child for why allowing four teams from each district is very much defensible...we want to crown the BEST TEAM PLAYING AT THE END OF THE SEASON...and SK is certainly playing very well now...

After seeing the defensive numbers of Male and knowing that SK is all about the run, I think this game will be better than I originally thought. Even if they come up short Friday night, this has been a great and special year for the Pioneers. Good luck to both, but hopefully SK can pull off another big win.

What type of defense does Male play? I guess if they bring the pressure, they will either make a big play, or get burnt for the big play.

 

They run the confusion. Some call it the Wagner 53 or I have heard some T fans refer to it as the junkyard. It is a a defense Redman came up with to be able to compete with T and X because in his words he did not have the athletes.

 

It is in your face pressure. Man to man every play. Now he may have adjusted it a little over the last few years but it is nasty pressure. Do not look to much into the Scott Co game. Male does not like playing Wing T teams. They tend to cause problems to the defense.

Thanks barrel, I thought they still played that type of defense, but wans't sure. As far as the WingT goes, I can understand why they don't like playing against it. Do the Bulldogs have size up front? One thing is certain, it will be a contrast of styles. SK will have to play a very good game to have the slightest chance, but they've been playing some good football in the past two months.

Not sure about size. Most teams that run that defense only use 2 big kids. The defense does not have the DL take on blocks but shoot gaps. Once you close down your splits they start grabbing legs until they are warned. They back off then start doing it again.
