Two big probs for SK: 1)Inability to pass the ball effectively. 2)Not much team speed other than Miles, the Great. Good luck to the Neers.

 

I dunno, I think SK may be able to throw the ball a bit this week when needed. As for team speed. They didn't get beat around the edge at all against Boone and did a very good job of scraping off of blocks. I remember Coach Marksberry preaching that to us in LB drills; scraping off the blocker and making the play, and I was very impressed with how well SK did that against Boone.

I dunno, SK made both extra points this week, so if you're basing you decision on them missing them, then the score could be 28-28. Hmmm an OT game would be exciting.

The key will be if SK can handle the Pressure from the Male Defenders....

Looking at the defensive stats, Male has given up over 2,000 rushing yards, and that is the strenght of the SK offense. Against Scott County, Jose Smith went for over 250 on the ground, and that bodes well for SK. I wouldn't label SK a slow team, I saw big Jeremy Marshall chase down the BC QB, he looked like a cheetah on a hunt. If SK has a weakness it's pass defense, and I'm sure Redman will challenge the SK defensive backs more than a few times. SK has a solid run defense, but they haven't faced a player like Green, and it appears as if he isn't their only weapon on offense, many touches by many players for the Bulldogs.

I would say in NKY there is not much a difference in 6A from the 1 - 4 seed especially this year.

 

There was no difference between the #1 and the #5 seeds this year...... Campbell could beat anyone on any given night as well.

Apparently Quainoo's speed was too much for SK, but SK's Defense shut him down. And I think they will do the same for Green. I'm going to say Simpson is the better RB in this game. Let's see if Male's Defense can contain him. :thumb:

I agree. Male is the prohibitive favorite...but so was Boone County. I wouldn't count out this Pioneer team. They've come a long way this season, and have been surprising people as they go.

 

Exactly what I was thinking. After the shock on the ride home Friday I won't be counting the Pioneers out of this one.
