July 28, 200917 yr I think you should get healthy first. If you do upper and abs then you will not get the results you desire. Nautilus equipment would be my best advice. YOu can isolate any group to work on.
July 28, 200917 yr Any ideas of ways to change up the program to work for someone with a badly sprained ankle? I started and then got hurt (doing something else) and I would really like to start up again. Is the ankle your only injury you are dealing with?
December 26, 200916 yr Anybody have a P90x that they're looking to get rid of? January 1 is right around the corner. :irked:
January 5, 201016 yr The first time around my brother and I had really good results. The 2nd time we took out a lot of the stuff at the gym and added more strength exercises. The weight has not gone down as much even though we have followed the diet for the most part. My caloroes 6 days a week are 2,000 or below. I am getting a little stronger on some exercises like the dumb bell bench press I can now do the 120's for 4 reps. Not very good but for a 46 year old man trying to get in shape I can live with it for now.

Im 220 and have worked out for 20 yrs and 38 and have only gotten up to the 100lb dumbells for 3 reps. Kudos...keep up the good work.
January 5, 201016 yr I ordered the P90X + for my husband and me for Christmas. Wow--it is hard. The Interval X workout is very difficult with only one 1 minute rest. The Total Body and Upper Plus are pretty tough, too. There is much less instruction and down time, so the workouts are much more difficult, IMO. Lots of core work, too, which suits this mother of 5 quite nicely! I am determined to get somewhat of a 6 pack!

I just started yesterday a new little routine from this month's Men's Health. Quick workout but pretty intense. Need something to get me ready for my next marathon.
January 5, 201016 yr I saw the infomercials about this and was really interested. I'm glad some revived this old thread so I can get actual feedback about the program. I may look around a few places to see if they have it (eBay, maybe). I'd love for this to help me get into shape by summer.

Very, very well if you stick with it and follow the nutrition plan. I got into, and have stayed, in the best shape of my life and I am a 37 year old female former athlete.

Or does it also provide the tone-part? Abs, muscles, etc?
January 6, 201016 yr Author I weighed in today at 180 lbs. I started a few months back at 208 lbs. And 2 years ago I was at 218 lbs. I work out 6 days a week, and really watch the food. I've finally gotten down to around 10% bodyfat. I can rep 100 lb dumb bells about 8 times. I've gotten to where I'm alternate curling 60 lb dumb bells about 12 times on each arm. I'm in the best shape of my life
January 6, 201016 yr Is this something that helps the "health" part of the person? Or does it also provide the tone-part? Abs, muscles, etc? The diet part makes you a lot healthier by itself. I have tweaked it a little allowing me oinlt 2,000 claories a day, well six days a week. I have that one day that allows me to go a little higher.:puke:
January 6, 201016 yr I've done P90x and have since moved on to Insanity. I like P90X, but some of the workouts dragged on a little too long for me. I like Insanity a lot better because it is all cardio and any resistance exercises uses your own body weight. No special equipment needed. Plus, the workouts are quite a bit shorter. All workouts have the intensity of PlyoX though. And if you know anything about P90X, you know that PlyoX is pretty brutal. I love the challenge! Also, Insanity is a 60 day program as opposed to 90 days. Seeing final results a little sooner is always a perk. I signed up to be a coach for Team Beachbody (the company that puts out P90x and Insanity), so if anyone is interested in maybe trying some of these things out, PM me. I'll gladly provide you with some information.
