Congrat's to Central on a playing a tough game. They do have some studs. I look for the re-match with Belfry for the AAA title. If Highlands played in AAA this could have been the state game final, though Belfry would have presented itself as a formidable opponent.

Congrats to the Birds on another fine performance. It was business as usual for the defense. This now makes the third week in a row Highlands has pitched a shut out and all three have come against top 5 teams for their class.

 

Barring any major injuries, I don't see any reason why the Birds don't bring #18 home to the Fort this December.

Austin didn't play offense last year so these are all defense and special teams returns from his sophomore year.

Which kid from Central is going D1 was the one that Dempsey faced and was it on O or D. Was it Cobble? . Because Frank faced him when he was center and Hunter and Bardgett faced him when he was a DT.

Nice job Highlands. Sounds like Central could really never get things going.

I've seen both play HHS and they really don't compare. If HHS and Hoptown played right now, it wouldn't be close. HHS defense is playing so much better right now. Central would beat the team we played earlier in the year handily IMO. Central has a lot more athletes. Oh, and they put on good "show" warming up including the coaches. I guess that is their intimidation game but game was over 12 seconds in.

Tough to compare. I agree with Tdy that the HHS defense is playing much better now and the 4-hour bus ride to Hop-Town was a factor. Both teams have great athleticism. I lean towards Central but honestly, they never broke anything in the open except a kick off return so its tough to say.
