Hoptown defense has improved alot since Highlands. Playing U guys made us a better team and have not lost since then. You never know they might meet again this year if we get a little lucky. Keep up the good work you guys are on a different level then the rest of 5A.

I agree with this post. It seems that Hoptown has kicked it up a notch since the Highlands game. They could make some real noise out west this postseason.

Can anyone else confirm this. I just heard that Louisville Central had a total of 59 yards on offense last night. That right there is impressive!!!! Look out 5A

The kids in Fort Thomas are taught very early on that hard work pays big dividends. Last year after the State Championship, the Seniors took turns babysitting the Championship Trophy and several of them made it a point to take the trophy to elementary school aged kids homes to have pictures taken with it! Those kids were in heaven being able to hold that trophy and have pictures taken with "real Bluebird football players!" I know of at least 2 excellent local youth players players that may have opted for NCC or Campbell County that have changed their minds after such visits!

I thought the long passes were more a trbute to the receivers that to Tony G. AC would get behind the Central db who would run full bore with his head down. Collinsworth would field the ball like a center fielder. At least 3 of those throws were behind and to the right of the receicers. Collinsworth is improving with every game and will be a 2 time ist team All-Stater ,if there is any justice.

I am not sure if you can use the score of a common opponent to adequately dissect the "theoretical" matchup of the Bluebirds versus the Tigers; however, it does give one solid indication...it would be one heck of a game and really fun for the players, coaches and fans!

 

Appears to me like the Birds could give the Tigers a run for their money, if not have a chance to pull out a win.

 

Would love to see these two coaching staffs scheme against one another (regardless of the silly claim that 1400 boys versus 400 students is a crutch...as if the other 1200 boys were football or even moderately of mediocre athletic caliber). Its the Birds best 11 on the field against the Tigers best 11...and it would be a GREAT GAME for football fans.

 

Since we have 6 classes, maybe we can schedule an all-star game, pitting the winner of 5A (duh, highlands) versus 6A (trinity or X)...have it at a neutral field...maybe Commonwealth Stadium and have Tennessee officials come in an ref the game...and maybe Collinsworth could pull a few strings and announce the televised version...he is one of the BEST in the business and would be professional enough to remain unbiased...we'll let him wear a Bluebirds t-shirt though!

That right there means a world of difference. If it didn't then why would you have classes?? Bigger pool of kids to get the best 11.. Just makes simple sense to me...What do I know though??:p
