Congrat's to Central on a playing a tough game. They do have some studs. I look for the re-match with Belfry for the AAA title. If Highlands played in AAA this could have been the state game final, though Belfry would have presented itself as a formidable opponent.

Central played 10 in the box all night, I don't know why it wasn't a field day for the QB and the receivers.

I agree. Some of the receptions I saw Buten and Collinsworth make tonight were just magical!

 

Austin has an amazing way of getting to wherever the ball happens to come down -- even if it means doing a 180 and reversing course to get there.

The Birds passing game missed many open looks tonight. I know there will be plenty of people who disagree with me but Highlands could of blew this game open plenty of times. Central could not man up with Highlands receivers tonight. Period!!!! And once again we didn't take full advantage of what they were giving us. Trust me, Dale is not happy right now he didn't score any points in the 3rd and 4th quarter.

Yeah i know, HHS won the game and what more do i want. What i want is when a team does what the Gravedigger said with putting the boys in the box, you make them pay and pay dearly. This is High School football people, Kids are not taught to play shut down defense in High School. It just doesn't happen!!!

Austin Collinsworth returned the opening kickoff for the birds for ~ 85 for the first TD.

Austin had several other great catches and runs.

Nick Buten fought off a defender for a great catch.

Brandon Roller had a nice middle screen that went for a score.

Brandon also move to a monster type outside linebacker position and absolutely played awesome. He hits hard from the inside moving him farther out shut down the option and it gives him a bigger head start to crush people.

 

The defense was stellar!!!!

Glad to get by this one as I figured it was going to be a tough one. Sure hope Josh C gets the chance to come back and play his senior year but don't want him to take a chance on injuring it more. Tough situation.

I guess it was senior night in the Fort tonight. Hopefully all of the seniors got to play. I dont think the score was indicative of the game, so I'm sure this was the case.

Really? Does Highlands want to enter that argument. This year's team is very good. An open enrollment school shouldn't go flaunting the "Public School" flag. By throwing out that, you are taking away from the fact that the WHOLE city does it right. "Public School" is a crutch used by too many.
