The Birds took care of business in the first half. It's a good thing too, because the Yellojacket defense stiffened considerably after halftime. Highlands got close to a score in the 4th, but Central intercepted at the 1 yard line.*

 

Well, let's see. St. X beat Central by a margin of 23. We beat them by 28...in just one half. Guess that clearly settles the Highlands/St. X debate.

One of the posters warned of Central being a threat to the Birds. Sounds like the game was pretty one-sided. Congrats to the Birds as they head for #18.

 

I don't think Central ever threatened to score. If they did then i missed it. As Roadrunner said, it will be tough to lose if nobody can score on you. Highlands defense is that good. I know i'm sounding a little biased but it's true. If Tony makes a couple of quicker throws tonight, this game gets ugly. Central could not man up on Collinsworth all night. If Central couldn't do it, i doubt anybody in the state could. The Birds are on a mission right now. Look out 5A!!!

Josh did not play. He is going to try to come back in a couple of weeks. I don't really know how effective he will be. His injury is more serious than first thought.

Central's decision in the 1st qtr, to punt on 4th & 1 from mid field suprised me.

They definitely have some great players. The Birds were able to get chunks of yards thru the air. Tony G did a great job of seeing downfield while being chased around by the swarm. Centrals O line looked gassed by the 4th. Both team will make the finals, will they both repeat?

Josh may or may not play this year. But he is playing a major role in this team's success either way.

I thought it sounded awfully optimistic when the injury first occurred. That's too bad but wouldn't it be great to see him cross the goal line at Papa's House as the Birds take home another title?

Central played 10 in the box all night, I don't know why it wasn't a field day for the QB and the receivers.
