November 6, 200817 yr If they turn 15 before Aug. 1 of their 8th grade year, then by the time they are seniors they would be ineligible per KHSAA rules. So, I agree that rule should be in place. No reason to be eligible in middle school if you can't play as a senior in high school. Having said that, I very doubt the Shelton kid or many kids have to worry about this. You would have to be held back 2 years in most cases for this to come into play. I meant 15 after August 1st, my bad.....
November 6, 200817 yr Toy Bowl champions from Louisville should be in this discussion....:confused:

This discussion about being that old typically relates to kids who just cant seem to get out of middle school to be quite honest. They typically have problems in school and end up playing anyway within districts who really dont check grades or enforce it. If you are 15 in the 8th grade there are some problems somewhere in that child's life I can assure you of that.
November 6, 200817 yr The Shelton kid can play as a Sr. He played for Wayne's football team in the playoffs. They have an age restriction that makes sure the kid can play as a Sr. He is a big kid in the 200lbs range and a little over 6 ft.

As long as he is not 19 before August 1st he can play his senior year!

November 8, 200817 yr Author Clinton Co moved to 5-0 tonight in 8th grade boys with a win over Pickett County. The Asher kid that moved in from Indiana is as good as anyone I've seen and I have seen most of the kids discussed on this board. He will be an absolute steal for some AAU team this summer. His potential is the most impressive thing, he's just scratching the surface. I would say he is averaging a point a minute through 5 games. He plays all 5 positions at different times but he is probably a 2 in the long run.

My son's middle school team has only had 4 practices and you guys have already played 5 games. How many will you end up playing by the end of the season?
