October 16, 200818 yr A point that McCain missed to hammer home the Obama taxing. Obama talked about the need to get the automakers back to working. I guess he feels the best way to do that is to raise their corporate tax rate. Yeah, raise the taxes that Ford, Chevrolet and Chrysler has to pay. That will increase jobs. US has the 2nd highest corporate tax rates in the world and we wonder why businesses are taking jobs overseas. How much tax could they be paying considering they are losing money every quarter?
October 16, 200818 yr How much tax could they be paying considering they are losing money every quarter? This post evidences a fundamental misunderstanding of business taxes.

October 16, 200818 yr Here is my best analogy of last night's debate. Team Obama was up 7-2 going in to the eigth innning. Team McCain hits a solo homerun to make the game 7-3. Time for the ninth innning. Rivera is running from the bullpen to close it out.
October 16, 200818 yr :thumb::thumb: I agree on all that you have said, especially the ACORN comment, Obama had no clue how to answer and he ducked it. My new name for Obama is "Ducky". :thumb::laugh: And your new name for him would be justified. Obama seems to have a pattern of ducking all questions when it contains facts about his true policies and beliefs.

October 16, 200818 yr And how much are those wage earners earning? What percentage of all income? I don't know about income, but they do control over 90% of the wealth in the country. Deuce, this is a good chart that breaks down taxes paid vs ajusted gross income. As you can see the top 5% pay a way high % of overall tax then % of overall AGI that they earn. They pay 60% tax but only make 36% of the overall total AGI. We always hear from the left how the middle class supports this country but these numbers show differently. The top 10% paid $724,740,000,000 in tax while the next 40% (I am going to call these the middle class) only paid in $268,436,000,000. The remaining 50% only paid $30,563,000. The top 1% paid $408,369,000,000 which is more then the 11-50% paid. The chart came from this site, http://www.taxfoundation.org/news/show/250.html . October 16, 200818 yr Obama set a puppy on fire.Wouldn't surprise me. He couldn't care less about infanticide, why would a puppy matter to him?
October 16, 200818 yr Wouldn't surprise me. He couldn't care less about infanticide, why would a puppy matter to him? Gorsh Mickey!
October 16, 200818 yr IMO nothing new came out of this debate, at least nothing that will change the course. I call it a draw and see Obama winning in a few weeks. As an undecided democrat, REACHING for anything that will help me to vote for McCain (As I have some issues with the Obama campaign), I cannot find anything that McCain says that will sway me, and I am disappointed.
