October 13, 200817 yr My first concert was actually at Whitley County High. Chase (only hit was the high school band favorite "Get It On") in the spring of 1974. It was also the most boring concert I've ever been to. Nobody was allowed to approach the stage or stand and get crazy. I hadn't quite turned 16 yet. My first concert, that was fun, was the J. Giles Band at Morehead State in 1976.

October 13, 200817 yr ^ Not to be confused with Mahogany Rush. Anyone else remember the strange urban legend re. their lead guitarist? The great Frank Marino. In fact they still tour. I saw them this summer at Durty Nellies in Chicago. Did a real nice rendition of All along the Watch Tower. For the younger folks who like the old style heavy guitar rock and roll I highly recommend doing some youtubing.
October 13, 200817 yr First was actually Johnny Cash at the Kentucky State Fair. As a teenager, my first rock concert was KISS with special guest New England in the late 1970's. It was awesome. A floor seat at Rupp for this show was either $10 or $11.
