Your First Concert

Featured Replies

Anne Murray at the Ohio State Fair when I was about 9 or 10.

The first concert I ever paid for and was not accompanied by a parent was Run DMC/Public Enemy/Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince/EPMD/JJ Fad at Riverfront Coliseum.

A memorable, or not so memorable parent-less concert I went to was Run-DMC and Beastie Boys concert at Riverfront Coliseum.

As to first concert, I think that would probably be a CSO at Music Hall.;)

I'm hazy on which "other concert" was first.

I'm suddenly remembering a Duran Duran in my distant:D past, also.

Exile in Elkhorn City, KY in 1975. They were a hard-rock band then.

They came to Morehead around then as well.

Not quite as cool as you'd hoped, eh? :D

James Taylor, third row, center stage, Music Hall , Cincinnati. It was awesome. And Carly Simon was still his thing and she sang with him. Life just didn't get any better that night.

Nice, I've only been to one rap concert, and it was great. PE, Ice T, Tribe Called Quest, MC Breed and The Ghetto Boys, I still remember the GB's ending their set, and the next thing you know Bushwick Bill says, "If you think we're done, then your mind's playin tricks on ya."

I had a beer with Bushwick Bill a few years ago when a buddy and I met him drunkenly traipsing up and down 6th Avenue in Austin. Funny dude.

Was it Everclear?

My first concert was the Dave Matthews Band which started an annual tradition now on its 6th year.

My Freshman year of high school I road in the backseat of a Mustang to Columbus with a buddy, his brother, and his brother's friend for our floor tickets to see Saves the Day, Green Day, and Blink 182.

Rare Earth and Billy Preston when I was at EKU in the early 1970s.
