UK's offense didn't execute today.

 

JMO but the U.K. offense has rarely executed this season. Another one of the "if a frog had wings" scenerio but if only our "O" could not necessarily match our "D" but at least come close then we would see a good U.K. football team. This Wildat Defense is tough, the Offense sucks!

Guys it was a wonderful day for football. The sun was out and the sky was blue. We have a horrible offense and we still compete with SEC teams. This loss stinks but on days like today I remember the beatings we used to take not so long ago. Our young players got a chance to grow today and its not the end of the season.

You can't put all the blame on the Qb. The line has to block for the running backs to pick up yardage and the receivers also have to catch passes. The receivers dropped their fair share of passes today.

 

 

Hartline isn't very good right now. If the D knows he can't make the passes, it makes it very hard on the line. Another words, if you don't have sucsess throwing the ball, your running game will suffer as well. The D is very good and to say not very good Team is a little to harsh I believe. Hartline played better against Bama and they hung in there. If he has bad games, UK's chances aren't real good, not in the SEC.

 

And I agree, the WR's didn't play very well, way to many drops.

The play calling isnt the best either. Whoever made the decision for the onside kick to start the 2nd half is an idiot. Thats not a smart move after going in at half with momentum on your side and then give it away to start the half. Hartline is only a sophmore and needs to pick his play up or else.

It didn't work this week, it did work last week. If it works, it a great call. If it doesn't their idiots, ok.

It didn't look good. If he is done I don't see UK winning over 1 more game this season.

Uk will not win another game this year without making changes on offense. Hartline can't get it done.

Closer losses are better than blowouts, and are signals that UK is getting closer to being a factor in the SEC, but at the end of the day, a close loss is a loss. People didn't react awfully to the loss to Alabama, as they likely wouldn't to Georgia or Florida. But a loss in a game against a team that they should be able to beat is going to be tough to swallow. A loss where the defense forces 4 first half turnovers and the other team misses 3 field goals is going to be tough to swallow. A loss where your offense goes 1 for 15 on third down is going to be tough to swallow.

 

I'm for young players getting to grow, but UK can't approach every game of every year as a chance to get the younger players better and improve for next season.

With a depleted receiving corps, I think Cobb is right where he needs to be. Make that right where he HAS to be.

 

And that is a big dilemna for the coaching staff.

 

Take away Cobb's 9 or so catches today and how much more pitiful would our offense have been? (minus Dicky Lyons who is now out).

 

The offensive problems are multiple and not just Hartline.

It's obvious that Hartline is just simply not working out at QB.

 

How long is Lyons out?

 

I think you have to give Cobb a chance at QB for an extended period of time. He can make plays with his arm and his feet. Hartline really doesn't even make plays with his arm. He over throws open receivers, and throws too many stupid passes. Give Cobb a chance.
