October 9, 200817 yr No, fill us in on this one. I like my steak medium. Pittsburgh Rare is a steak that gets heated up at a very high temperture, very quickly. It will be charred on the outside but raw on the inside.
October 9, 200817 yr Pittsburgh Rare is a steak that gets heated up at a very high temperture, very quickly. It will be charred on the outside but raw on the inside. I've done that before, but it was by accident and it didn't taste very good.
October 9, 200817 yr We had a thread on this not too long ago. I take my steak cooking seriously. First and foremost, the key to any good steak is a good cut of meat. I essentially live at our butcher store. For me, I simply just put a little pepper and salt on it and sear for a couple of minutes on each side to trap the juices. Then throw it on the grill for a few minutes to get the grill flavor... served up medium rare. You are so right, We kill our own beef, I have my steaks cut 1' thick....can't stand a thin one. Also rare to Medium rare for me.
October 9, 200817 yr Guess I'm an odd ball. Well Done please... I don't see how anyone can eat it that way. To me, it has zero taste that way. Medium Rare all the way. With a good helping of sautéed mushrooms on the side. :dancingpa
October 9, 200817 yr A few nights ago, my wife fixed some deer steaks. She likes hers the same way I do, and they were awesome. :thumb: Deer steaks are my favorite. (Marinated in buttermilk overnight)
