I saw where the Ville U14 won a tournament at Mid America this past weekend. One of their bracket games was vs. the Legends. Was this the U13 Legends or do the Legends now have a U13 team? Does anyone know?

I also saw where the KY Tigers beat the Ville 42-36 in the U12 Divison..

IMO, Hatton at guard. Shane Hall is better than Portwood. McNeil is probably the best shooter (quick release), he can be streaky but when he's on it's lights out.

 

I personally have never seen Hall play. I am looking forward to it from everything I have heard on here. Would be really nice to see Hall and Portwood against each other on the same court. Maybe in the middle school state. Sounds like it can't happen in AAU state if Hall plays D2.

The Tigers are the real deal. However the older these kids get the stronger and taller they get....zones can be broken down offensively. It's early, even though the Tigers lost to the Wolfpack & Omega...they have the weapons to win D1 state.

I saw that as well. That's huge for the 2 NKY teams (Omega and Wolfpack)! Those 2 teams are right in the mix for the state title!

For 13U, that may be the case this year. Only 5 teams played D1 last year in 12U -- Warriors, Legends, Tarheels, Albany and Fleming. And, from scores I don't believe Albany and Fleming were that competitive, so I don't know if they stay D1 or not, plus if the Tarheels are gone that leaves only KY Elite and Legends. Of course, there are always new teams that pop up or teams that step up. There usually has to be 4 teams in D1 for separate divisions. I believe when this age group was 11U, there was only one tournament because only Tarheels and Warriors entered D1.

Because I had heard so much about this 6th grade Tigers team, I wanted to see them play. When my grandson was done with his games, I got an opportunity to watch the tigers play against the wolfpac team(I think). I do not like to steal any teams thunder, but I do not recall any player on the wolfpac team that stood-out from the other players. I do not recall a player scoring 27 points or is it 35 points on that Tigers Team in the G-Town tournament. I do remember the wolfpac team getting a ton of layups because the tiger team looked like they were learning a new defense. However, the only two kids I remember were the Tigers point guard and another Tiger kid that look like he play linebacker for the steelers. I asked my grandson the same question and he could only remember the Tigers point guard(the kid can play). I also recall the tigers being up by 12 or more and than it appears the Tiger coach started working on different defenses and subing in 5 players for 5 players. I truly do not think the Tiger coach was playing just to win. That was obvious. I was also at the Omega Flight game as well. I think it should be told that the Omega team got a BIG break because the Tiger team had to played Back-to-Back games. There was no break between the games. It was like the Tigers played 8 quarters in one game. I do not think the Tiger coach knew they had to play back-to-back because that team played full court pressure man-to-man the hold game before the Omega Game. They also played full court man-to-man in the Omega Game. That Tiger team was extremely exhausted. It was obvious the Tiger Coach was working on developing defensive man-to-man skills. If I was the parents or the coach of these two teams(wolfpac and Omega), I would not compare my competative level against that Tiger team based on those games. This is the first time in a long time I saw a AAU coach put developing his kids ahead of just winning a game. Bragging is sometimes the reason all these AAU coaches run up the scores.

 

 

If you didn't think that #20 stood out for the Wolfpack then you weren't paying attention to the game. He is as good as they come for a 6th grader this year. Not sure what the future will hold as other kids develop but he can flat out play and he dominated the Georgetown tournament.

I agree wildcat 14. From what I've seen thus far the best U12 players are Dalton (the Ville) guard, Noah Robinson (Wolfpack) guard, the point guard from the Tigers, Brendan Stanley (Wolpack) forward, Mckee (Scott Co Wolfpack) forward, Neff & Mcdonald (Omega) forwards....have not seen the Gardner kid down in southern Ky...but hear he is a very good player.

In the Warrior Classic at Somerset the Albany Bulldogs 10/u won their 2nd straight tournament with a 20 point victory over Richmond. Generation Next, a 4th grade team won the 11/u tournament over Legacy by 3. Generation Next may be the best 10/u team in the state. I know the Wildcats defeated them in the state finals last year but they have really improved and grown. Does anyone know if they have played each other yet?

 

They have not played this season. They should play each other in the Scott County Tournament the weekend before the State Tournament. They are 1-1 against each other only playing in the State Championships game both times. Once as 2nd graders then again as 3rd. They used to be called the SW Sonics, then Lake Cumberland Warriors and now Generation Next. Should be a good game again. I watched Generation Next in Scott County in December, they have improved.

Any word on the U13/U14 KY Elite out of Georgetown? Both have been mentioned as being powerhouses. Have they played? When and where will they play? Who are the players? Coaches?

Tarheels at this age are disbanded. Avery might be available. :sssh:

You still have to give the edge to the 13U Elite. 4 of the kids (Portwood, Green, Grundy, and Johnson) are from the Central Ky Warriors, last years state champions. Add to them two from the N. Ky Tarheels (McCormick and McNeil), and a 6'7'' kid from Pikeville and you have the makings of a state championship team. Not saying the Legends won't beat them, I just think the Elite are the favorite to win the state.
