BTW i was just informed that the Tarheels are not breaking up. Qyrche you have alot of bad info. Hatton will be on that team like always. Jalen Avery is not available, don't be suprised if one of the players mentioned with ky. elite is still wearing the tarheel uniform this year.

I'm positive Q is getting his information from Tarheel parents. A little birdie (who refs) told me the same thing.

Like I said about Ky Elite, until they play together, who knows what will happen?? I look for Hatton to surprise everyone and play AAU with kids from his high school team over the summer. You just never know.:D

I personally never thought the Tarheels would break up. Which kid are you speaking of from KY Elite? From my understanding some of the kids are essentially paired together, so if you are speaking of only one kid, it must be McNeil because the 3 original Warrior players seem to stick together and I know it wouldn't be Portwood, McCormick or Belter since they are playing on both teams. But, you are right, KY Elite has not played a game, so who knows about the roster.

I could see him playing with Trammel and Pike as they are soph and frosh. He can obviously hang with the big boys. In order to get better he probably should play up with older kids.

If Tarheels are back, IMO Legends are 1st, KY Elite 2nd and Tarheels 3rd. Legends added Synder. Elite lose Cunningham but add McCormick, and Tarheels lose McCormick. However, all these matchups would be great games.

I hear Snyder with the Ville and Dekarie Johnson (6'4") with the 7th Legends. In the 7th, I think the Legends are the team to beat. Lots of size.

In 6th, Dalton is playing with the Ville and I think they have added a big man. The big kid from Wayne County will be a dominate 6th grade player but I look for him to stay and play with Wayne. If not, wherever he goes will be the instant favorite if he joins one of the established DI teams.

Did Dalton play with the Ville last weekend. I saw that the Central KY Tigers got them by 8 pts. Tigers also beat the 6th Legends. IMO, not just one dominate D1 team this year. Tournament will be won by the team that well at that time. Can Wayne compete at the D1 level with their big man? I would like to see Stanley and the big kid from Wayne County go against one another.

Who did Johnson play for last year? Did the Ville form a 7th grade team or is Snyder playing with the 8th?

I believe Johnson played for Hoop Dreams in the state and I know he played for the NY Gauchos in nationals. From what I hear, he lives with his father in the summer in NY, so he will be going to nationals with the Gauchos again. I do know several kids from Lexington (including Grundy, Green, Johnson, etc.) have played with the Legends in winter leagues and weekend tournaments to keep a ball in their hands. So, my point is, until all the teams are playing the same weekends, you won't truly find out who they are actually playing with this year.

Snyder is playing with the 8th grade The Ville. I know last year he played various weekends with the Warriors and Legends before settling on playing with the Tarheels.

Snyder is ranked as one of the best in KY. I saw him play many times. I thought he was solid but I never saw him dominate on that Tarheel team. However, Hatton and McCormick did dominate.

Just know that the Tarheel team will be there and i would'nt put them behind anyone in the state. They always come to play regardless of who it is or who they have.

Also heard that the 8th grade Tarheel team is being put back together as we speak.:dancingpa

The 7th grade Tarheels will command respect. They didn't look themselves at last year's state tournament. Still picking the Legends with the addition of the 6' 4" kid and I wouldn't be surprised if Synder plays as well.

I would agree with you that they didn't look themselves, and that Q will be with them. But rumor has it that the Tarheels also have a few pickups and finally one that includes a big man. :thumb:

Bottom line, if the Tarheels are playing in 7th grade, they will be a factor. They always have been at every age group, so this will be no different. It will be fun for sure, no matter who plays for which team. As long as players such Portwood, Hatton, McCormick, Snyder, etc. etc. are on different teams, the battles will be something to watch.

The 7th grade Tarheels have never won the state in AAU, why would they be #1 this year?

Correct me if I'm wrong but this 7th grade team has been Pouncy's best class. Others grade levels have competed but this particular (7th) grade level has been his best (Hatton, McCormick, Beal). I would have thought over the years that this team would have won state.
