You still have to give the edge to the 13U Elite. 4 of the kids (Portwood, Green, Grundy, and Johnson) are from the Central Ky Warriors, last years state champions. Add to them two from the N. Ky Tarheels (McCormick and McNeil), and a 6'7'' kid from Pikeville and you have the makings of a state championship team. Not saying the Legends won't beat them, I just think the Elite are the favorite to win the state.

I thought McCormick was playing with the 14U Elite?

This isn't the first time the Heels have disbanded throughout the years... It's tough to continue to build D1 teams in a state where D2 is now becoming the normal... Teams that should be D1 stay at D2 trying to win it all and they still come-up short. It's crazy.

Great points, but they still haven't played any games yet, so will they actually be together when everything shakes out???? Who's coaching this group?

I think with Snyder playing with Legends, they become the favorites. A strong ball handler/playmaker was a big hole for the Legends vs. Warriors.

The Wolfpack have picked up a 6' 1" and 5' 10" post player, in addition to the beef they had in the post last year. Add that to their 3 strong guards, they seemed to have improved greatly from last year.

It will be an interesting state tournament.

I believe the plan is for him to play with both.

To answer a couple of these questions:

McCormick, Portwood and Belter (6-7 kid from Pikeville) are all 3 scheduled to play both 13U and 14U.

The team has not played a game together, but is also probably not done with their roster either as they only list 7 players on the website.

If Snyder is playing for Legends, they would be a tough out. And, quite honestly, with the the Tarheels folding, Hatton could be the X factor -- assuming he will play 7th grade. The Elite is full on exceptions, not sure about the Legends, but if one of the top teams can add Hatton to what they have that would go a long way for them.

I agree. If Hatton plays for the Legends, Elite, Wolfpack or ?????, they immediately become the favorite.

I still am going to hold off on declaring the Elite the favs until they actually play together.

:thumb: I expect them to compete very well then. Would you happen to know the list of players on the KY Elite 13U?

From the rosters on the website, I think a name change is in order.

How 'bout the Ky/Oh/Ind-elite ?

That makes sense.

BTW i was just informed that the Tarheels are not breaking up. Qyrche you have alot of bad info. Hatton will be on that team like always. Jalen Avery is not available, don't be suprised if one of the players mentioned with ky. elite is still wearing the tarheel uniform this year.

And before i forget, Tarheels 3rd grade team went undefeated this weekend in there 1st tournament of the year. Winning the championship game by 12.

Great job guys!!!!

Looks like another group of talented kids coming through the Tarheel organization.:banana::banana:

Ok, so they basically have a few TarHeels and some kids from Louisville that come up.

Congrats on the 3rd grade Tarheels victory by the way.

Which would mean he will not be playing for the KY Elite correct? Correct me if I am wrong but you cant play for 2 organizations right.

They are a very good team even though they are just now putting things together... A team to watch for sure.
