The Wolfpack 6th beat the Ville at the BCI by 2, score was 46 to 44. Stanley had 31 pts. Wolfpack led by a much as 10 but lost the lead and went into the 4th behind by 6pts. No outside production...0 for 10 from 3's.

Which Ville?

The same one who played in the 8th grade "tourny"?

12U Ville

They have 12U & 14U teams.

NKY Warriors 14U lost a tough Championship game to the Wolfpack 40-33. The Warriors played very well through 3 qtrs leading by 10 pts midway through 3rd. They had an 8 pt lead with 4 min to play and couldnt hold on. Wolfpack turned up the pressure in last frame and forced a few turnovers for easy baskets.

Wolfpack were led by #50 Christian ? who had 19 pts and took over in the last qtr. He had 14 2nd half points (many coming from the FT line) and is a very strong player. Warriors gave up a couple of 3pters in the 2nd half when they went to a 2-3 zone. Played a tough man-man entire game and when they went zone I think it was huge for the Pack who took advantage. At one point the Pack were down 8 and 45 seconds later they were up by 1 pt.

Both teams are very strong and had very nice 1st sessions at SOAS. Warriors ended up 11 and 2 with both losses coming to the Pack. First loss was an OT thriller and then the loss today where they led through most of the game.

Pack when they have everybody will be a top contender for the D2 State Title no doubt.

I know this.. But only a few of the 14U showed up. I know they were missing at least 3 of their big dawgs..

Will there be a DI and DII state this year?

Congrats to both teams Wolfpack and Warriors.

What was not mentioned in previous post were that the Wolfpack were down to only 6 players, had to play back to back games and won both to take the championship!! Impressive!

They definitely reached deep down in the final qtr and made a valiant combeback. Congrats to the Pack.

That win by the Wolfpack over the VILLE probably makes them the team to beat in 12/u. Good job coach! It appears the Ville had no answer for Stanley. He must be the real deal.

If we have any outside production at all(0 for 10 from 3's) we probably don't have to come from behind in the 4th qrt. Up by 10 before the half Stanley sits and we sub liberially...they hit two 3's in a row to cut it to 4.

I think the U12 D1 is up for grabs. Tigers and the Ville are extremely athletic. The more they play together the harder it will be to beat them.

Stanley was a beast for sure yesterday. Stanley picked up two quick fouls and still controlled the game. I don't remember the Wolfpack ever being up by 10 at any point. Very good game anyway. Wolfpack gaurds better get tougher and smarter down the road. I didn't see one bounce pass all day and the Ville gaurds kept picking off the lazy over the head passes.

My son was on the clock. 27 to 17 with a little over a minute to go in the 2nd qrt. They hit two 3's with no one guarding them and cut it to 4. And you are correct...bounce passes are premium against that type of pressure. Wolfpack guards played poorly.....pressure was getting to them.

According to their website, things are starting to get moving for KY Elite. There are some new names for the 13U team. Also, they will be hosting a tourney in Wilmington, OH 3/27-3/29. You can check the website (kyelitebasketball.com) or PM me if you are interested in more information.

Not sure about the Ville, I know they were missing Dalton, a very good guard. Wolfpack was missing a big. Either way your assessments were correct...the wolfpack guards better take care of the basketball or their coach is going to have a heart attack.
