Gas is gas and time is time isn't it? At least thats the greatest complaint folks have had. What makes gas and time more valuable during the state championship?

Indeed it is more important. So how about your save the gas you would've used for the regular season game, and use it for the State Championship?

It is different because Highlands chose to schedule Hopkinsville and make the drive to WKY. They have no say in where the finals are held. Of course, if they did......

And the fans who have never had to travel at all, or who have only had to travel an hour and a half for many many years, are complaining about an additional hour and a half. It just blows my mind.

Frankly, it blows my mind that you would think that way about people. It has nothing to do with whining or being spoiled. It's about what's right for the championships and what's most fair to the greatest number of people. You mention staying several days and watching all the games. Sure, under those circumstances it wouldn't be too big of a deal. But for some people, an overnight stay isn't a realistic option.

 

No one is disputing the fact that the games have to move to WKU temporarily. It can't be avoided. But to say it's a better venue or location than Louisville and Papa John's is just preposterous.

As far as the driving distance goes, the half (85%) of the state that benefitted from a short distance the past 29 years will now become that other (15%) half that didn't benefit much from the past 29 years.

I'm done arguing with all you Westerners. You'll have it on your doorstep for a while; but hopefully, the KHSAA will choose to move it at the first opportunity.
