Congrats to the Rocks. From what I've read on the other board, many thought X would lose this game and I find that hard to believe but if so, they were right. I also saw that Massa from X broke his collarbone, that won't make things any easier for the Bombers.

 

What was the attendence?

To be honest I was disappoined in the crowd.

 

X didn't have nearly as many people as I expected.

From my perspective the Bombers got their rear ends handed to them all night and were glassy eyed with bloody noses when leaving the field (on their own and with assistance). Trinity had one "jacked up" after another. Those injuries were not fake.

I thought St. X was very slow and too one dimensional on offense. They ran 5 wide just about every play and very rarely stretched the field. Maybe it's because they don't have nearly the speed they had last year. Their o-line was very porous and couldn't block smaller defensive linemen.

We could not figure out for the life of us why they gave up totally on running the ball when they were getting 4 to 5 yards every time....weird! :eek:

 

Whoever was worried about the Trinity OL needs worry no more. They did an outstanding job tonight.

 

There is nothing more I can add to the comments about Trinity's defense, especially the way they were hitting. The whole Bomber offensive team may be huddled in a hot tub for the next two days. :creepy:

Great win Trinity! Northern Kentucky thanks you for showing Cincinnati that KY football is alive and well! The GCL teams rag on Kentucky football because their best big school teams usually eek out a win over schools like Highlands that are a third their size!

I have very little to add to this, but I need to add that this is the first time that I have ever seen a GCL school manhandled physically in a game, especially against a KY team. I didn't really know what to expect. Our defense was so, very, very physical that I got chills a few times. I guarantee that X had some serious nicks and bruises at the end of this battle. The crowd looked disappointing but I bet there were about 10-12K paid tickets. I am kind of speechless in that I didn't expect us to win with our defense, and we sure did...they laid the wood on the field tonight...Offensively we have tons, and tons of work to do, we have got to find our running game or we'll get embarrassed against the Louisville Xaverians in two weeks.

Congrats rocks on a big win!!! The difference to me was Cameron at QB with his foot work kept the D off balance. Our special teams dominated and the defense was incredible. As i always say "speed kills and defense wins championships!" T's coaching staff did a fantastic job scouting and putting together a game plan. That was some of the hardest hitting I've seen by a Trinity defense in many, many, many, many, many years! X will recover and I feel they will have a great season. I respect the schedule they put together each year playing tough competition around the country. I hope X fans have a safe trip back to Ohio. Good luck! GO ROCKS!!! #19

Please tell me that is not an excuse for T winning. That Massa broke a collarbone.

 

In that case Highlands beat Male and maybe Colerain if not for the fact that our starting Runningback was out with a broken leg.

I haven't heard anyone say the Massa injury was why X lost. Only that if he is gone for the season, things get very tough for X down the road. Doubt you can find a team from coast to coast with a more challenging 10 week schedule than Cincy X this year.
