A win is a win. Can't wait to see how many point we can score next week. Hopefully our offense will give our defense some help in winning some games. Thank God for miracles (last year) and almost miracles( tonight).

We won't score next week...BYE has a great defense this year, heard their offense stinks though. Sort of like Auburn.

BYE certainly has a great coach. A real class act.

It'll be a long one if its like the Auburn game tonight. Hopefully we can be the one that gets to kick the field goal.

However, all of the punts were by Masthay, Tydlacka didn't punt tonight.

err.....

UK should bet BYE U fairly easily I would think. They haven't won a game in years. Might be an upset, though.

Any news on the injuries to Micah Johnson, David Jones, Ventrel Jenkins, and Randall Cobb??

They showed Micah Johnson & Randall Cobb on the sideline with crutches.

Micah Johnson looked like he was in some pain on the sideline, but I'm not sure what his problem was.

It wasn't Ventrell Jenkins, but Ricky Lumpkin, who got hurt from the D-line.

They said it was Cobb's ankle. He was blocking downfield and Dixon landed on him and caused him to roll his ankle.

Uk gave up 355 through the air.....that has me freaked out for when MTSU comes here.

They were sharp and #2 (Gee?) was lightning quick for MTSU.

With that said, UK did not tackle well tonight and was not very sharp. Add that to the fact that Micah Johnson & David Jones went out early, and MTSU was able to hang around.

err.....

See post #90. I already said that Yahoo had the boxscore incorrect. They had all the punts credited to Masthay.

I thought Hartline looked pretty good. There were a few passes where he looked bad, but Brooks was quick to jump on the WR after those. Not sure what happened, but I'm certain it was the WR's fault by Coach Brooks' reaction.

Lanxter looks like he has a lot of potential, but he's going to have to be more aggressive going after the ball if he wants to stay on the field.

I enjoyed listening to Tim Couch. Thought he did a very nice job. And it was interesting to find out that Kelly Holcomb was doing the broadcast for MTSU as well. Tim said Kelly is staying with him and they played some golf this morning. Thought that was an interesting tidbit.

Trevard Lindley is a very, very good DB.

Our D-line looked great, but I'd like to see a little more pressure on the quarterback.

Tony Dixon should be, at best, the 3rd string RB. Derrick Locke & Alfonso Smith are a great 1-2 punch, and Moncell Allen isn't too shabby either. He's a bowling ball.

Derrick Locke is an absolute stud on special teams. His punt coverage is something that won't get much (or any) attention, but we sure noticed it. He did a great job, although it's a little weird seeing him wear #20.

The announcer (Tom Hammond?) is horrible. He obviously doesn't look at who is in the backfield before the snap. Every time he'd say "And Dixon carries...", then correct himself once Locke or Smith got up from the bottom of the pile.

Kentucky's WR need a lot of work. Dicky Lyons is the closest thing to a consistent threat at WR that we have right now, and I don't really trust him. He was solid last year with Burton & Stevie Johnson, but I don't have much faith in him as a #1 WR.

That's all I've got for now.

I posted a post here awhile ago and Wireman confirmed what I heard that both Micah and Cobb both had high ankle sprains

Cool, thanks. I had skimmed the posts before mine but didn't read them too in-depth. Good to know that they both were sprains. It seemed like they were doing okay on the sidelines.

Any word on Lumpkin and Jones?

Not sure, at the time I was really concerned about those two but I'll see what I can find on them...

Here is some interesting things I found post-game that some people have brought up in this thread.

"Randall Cobb, Ricky Lumpkin and Micah Johnson all suffered high ankle sprains for Kentucky."

"UK coach Rich Brooks defended his decision to try a field goal with 20 seconds left, up six, leaving the Cats open to the possibility of a block -- and it was blocked -- by saying, “My thinking was if we kick the field goal we’re up by nine and we can’t possibly lose,” said Brooks. “But you can call me an idiot because they nearly scooped and score.”"

"Kentucky has now won 12 straight non-conference games for the first time since 1954-60. UK won 17 straight during that stretch. "

I'm still looking for something on Jones but can't find anything
