So...these are my comments from last night's coverage.

 

First...I fell asleep before Gov. Palin spoke. I was so mad this morning that I missed it!

 

Second....Did anyone notice that under the light in that convention center, Cindy's scalp was shining through her blond hair?

 

Third...Mama McCain scares the heck out of me! :eek: She looked so stern and mean last night! I liked her better in the 60 Minutes interview.

 

Fourth...I think Rudy is going blind. The poor guy was squinting like crazy to read his lines.

 

Fifth....Rudy was funny, but what was even funnier was that everyone was a beat behind on the laugh-track.

 

 

Seriously...I did notice these things...and I'd have said more about the speeches themselves, but several people have beat me to the punch on what I was going to say.

Reportedly, the teleprompter malfunctioned during both Rudy's and Palin's speeches. The teleprompter continued to scroll instead of pausing for applause. If true, it makes both Rudy's and Palin's speeches even more impressive. It might also explain why Rudy ran so long on his speech that there was no time to play the video bio to introduce Palin.

I think Obama did bring up healthcare and the economy in more detail than what we've heard this week.

 

Maybe we will hear some detail tonight. Lot of chain rattling on here before the darn thing is over. I only listed BOs speech and didn't come away with a whole lot of information as to specific plans. BTW any middle class citizen that thinks taxes aren't going up has their head in the sand.

Ahhh...well that explains it. It also explains the rather "choppy" nature of Rudy's delivery. I was kind of taken aback by that, because I've always admired his charisma, which includes his oratory skills. I know that won't win me any points with the Uber-cons, but...there it is. :lol:

I definitely agree. Palin's goal was to introduce herself to the nation and let the "people" see her for the first time. If she had attempted a policy-laden speech when the audience didn't even know who she was in the first place, it would have proven to be a disaster. She couldn't have delivered the speech any better imo.

I heard it on Michael Medved this morning on the drive-in, but I'll see if I can find a link. The CBS Poll found that an eight-point gap from Saturday had been closed to a dead heat.

 

The CBS poll didn't include Palin's speech, though.

McBush lost credibility back in 2000 when Georgie girl slapped him and talked about his family like dogs to the press. What does McBush do...walks up and gives him a big hug and kiss. If theis guy won't defend his family, do you really expect him to defend our country? I don't.

This disrespect for the presidency speeks volumes. Nothing I could say would prove my point any clearer.

The community organizer comment was a retaliatory comment against those who have questioned her experience.

Like it or not she is battling not only the opponent but the media to an extent.

The parting the waters comment was for the GOP base who have annointed him as the Messiah.

But I understand where some may construe it that way.

I realize why the comments were made ... I still think such rhetoric was mocking and condescending and is beneath her.
