I do believe 100% that our body language and tonality effects the way we are perceived. I trust you know some attorneys who win as much with those 2 (or lose) as they do with actual content of their representation.

Can't answer that. I assume there is schooling just like there is for psychologists. I would also assume there are plenty of studies done giving empircal evidence.

Unless I missed it, one point not mentioned here is Palins appeal to the people who have special needs kids in their lives. Any opinions on her reaching out to them. I think it will make a difference to a lot of people.

So if the name is not a guideline to determining one's ability to author legislation how do we actually make a determination as to one's ability to do so?

I was watching Morning Joe this am and Mika(sp) who is a BIG liberal said that democrats are kidding themselves if they think that Palin is not going to energize the female vote. Mika also said that her speech was inspiring to women of both sides...to which Chris Matthews replied "the Obama ticket has problems".

OK. Lets crystallize the issue then: Will the group you reference vote for Sen. McCain because of this one issue? Is it enough to cause them to overlook any other major differences they may have? That's what we're really talking about.

So, can there really be any data we can glean from "independent voters" that is not tainted? I hear your concerns (and as I stated I thought something similar when I first read it) but how then can we really evaluate the mindset of independent voters in this or any election? Would not everyone be susceptible to some accusation of bias?
