I haven't really heard the issue addressed at this level. Of course a President is not going to say they are not for the needs of these people. And by needs I mean not only the children, but the parents, the caregivers, and the specialists that work with these kids. I have a feeling this may be a larger demographic than you realize.

Unless I missed it, one point not mentioned here is Palins appeal to the people who have special needs kids in their lives. Any opinions on her reaching out to them. I think it will make a difference to a lot of people.

 

I agree Malachicrunch. She brought this up early in her speech. I think her comment about reaching out and being a voice for parents with special needs children is strong. Not only to the parents, but also the care facilities that provide assistance and education to the children. I'm sure she touched alot of people looking for someone to recognize their daily challenges when raising special needs children.

I was shocked that the infamous "Michelle Obama I Hate Whitey" video was not rolled out last night. Seems like that could have wrapped up the election.

Interesting. Even if you discount the inaccuracies I was still concerned about the tone - the condescencion . I don't know if I would have belittled Obama for his community organizer role. Not because of how Obama would feel about it but , rather, about how the folks who are community organizers and who are helped by community organizers would feel.

 

You can't get on Obama for his "small town mayor" comment and THEN come out and belittle community organizers and those that depend on them.

 

I'd be curious to hear/read a body language/speech expert. There was a tone there and a look given in some points of the speech that I think would be viewed negatively by those not already behind one party or the other.

I see two people listed who gave to Democrat campaigns. So is the point that the whole paper must be Democrat leaning? Does it mean the authors of this piece and/or event are these 2 who are Left Leaning? Is it because they gave and then the whole paper must be that way? I'm seriously :confused: and wonder where this thought is going.

To be honest (and I'm a Democrat) I thought she did an excellent job of telling the people what they wanted to hear. I am more interested in how she would do in a debate. I think she is too green to do too well in a debate.....enter BGP Republicans to comment on being green.

The green factor will not necessarily weigh as heavily in Biden's favor some Democrats think. A lot will depend on the mix of questions asked in the debate. Biden has good reason to be nervous and he tends to exaggerate and just make things up when he is under pressure. I like Palin's chances of holding her own.

I have no reason to assume they're not. Obviously its a science so its not 100% and nuances can effect the "results."

 

I do believe 100% that our body language and tonality effects the way we are perceived. I trust you know some attorneys who win as much with those 2 (or lose) as they do with actual content of their representation.
