X was very impressive. Do not think I have ever seen them throw the ball as much. QB's very on target. Told you it would be a blow out.

Lets face it parents run the programs at alot of public high schools in Jefferson Co.. Your Adm. don't have guts to stand up to them and the coach and other kids lose out. Coach Jackson is a very good coach , but if this continues you'll see problems develop.

I am a very tough critic when it comes to the Tigers but I am starting to believe that they are that good, and they are not at full strenght yet.

Guess maybe you did not see my earlier post --or maybe I do not have much 'cred' with you. I think they are the "real deal."

I must admit I was wrong...I thought this would be close. Tigers looked very solid in all phases of the game. Matt Brutscher and the receiving corps led by Goodwin and Sweeney put this game away early.

It was nice to see X airing it out a little more than usual. Had it been a closer game, they might hav kept the passing game going.

That doesn't make much sense.

 

I think he was joking on the "3rd string" part. But Deuce hasn't practiced very much this entire off season, so they had to get him a few carries. Not sure why they weren't in the 1st half, but maybe he was rewarding the guys that started because they have played well in practice. Wish the game were closer so he could have played more. He had a nice first play though - 41 yards!

Glaser did say pregame that Duece would play but that he was "3rd string" right now.

I appreciate the personal compliment, but it's not deserved after a shellacking and I'm not sure where the rest of this post is coming from...

 

PARENTS at Ballard had zero to do with the preparation, the play-calling, and the effort (or lack thereof) on our parts during the game.

 

I have been VERY clear with the parents and others here that there will be ZERO influence by 'outsiders' as to who plays, how much they play, how much they get the ball, etc. Further, they've been told that attempts to influence me to do so may actually HURT their son's chances to do all those things. TRUST built by 1) practice effort and 2) grading of game-film determine playing time and where the ball goes on game-day.

 

As the head coach, I don't need the administration's help in this area.

 

We were out-disciplined, out-hustled, and out-coached in every part of the game. Simple as that. No blame can be placed anywhere but on the coaches and players playing in the game...not the administration, not the parents. Those IN THE ARENA must assume PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY for what happened on the field without making excuses or placing the blame anywhere else...then they must CORRECT their own problems or be replaced.

 

One day in the future, Ballard will be competitive with disciplined teams. But not until a litany of bad-habits change and the coaching improves (starting with the head coach).

I don't know CoachJ, or any one else with the Ballard program, and didn't see the game, but something tells me that with that attitude things will change for the better at Ballard. Good Luck!

Coach this was not a dig at you, but a reply to a earlier comment. Sorry you took it that way. I think you will do a great job at Ballard. I just think coach Callett got a raw deal and do believe and know parents have influence in these matters when it comes to jobs. St X is a tough way to start out and right know their probably is no one in this state who can compete with them or Trinity. Your playing to see who is 3rd or 4th best in 6A. Best of luck this year!

CoachJ is Ballard's head coach, and he is a very good one.
