Main reason its not legalized IMO. Government cannot control it or make money on it, so they keep it illegal.

 

If the government wanted to legalize it they would have no problem taxing it and making money off of it. They would have no problem putting the drug dealers out of business. ADM could grow it by the thousands of acres, and Wal-Mart and other would sell it. Consumers would rather buy legal weed from a retailer than some stupid street punk.

 

Think about it. Who do you know that buys alcohol from a bootlegger, unless they live in a dry county or something.

Marijuana is legal in Amsterdam and Holland I believe. Anyone have any insight on how the decision to make it legal has affected these places ? Crime rates, economy, ect. ?

I don't know either, but I woud guess that since weed and prostitution are both legal in Amsterdam than would cut down on the crime rate as there are fewer things to be arrested for.

I've been to both, great places by the way. It is no longer legal though.

I think the government should make everything illegal that is dangerous to ourselves that could harm others...Automobiles Restaurants Alcohol and much more...:creepy:

Good thing I haven't mentioned anything about studies the have concluded that at one time Marijuana was a significant part in Christian Church services. (which now they have proven is true).

 

There are also scholars saying that the word cannabis is in the bible to prove this, and they say it is there because a word once translated and thought to mean sweet cane actually ended up being translated to mean cannabis.

 

 

 

I'm for sure not going on with this issue, I can tell it would rub many people wrong, thats why I never mentioned it. But it is now starting to be belief by some Biblical scholars, as well as other scholars that marijuana once played a role in ancient Christian services. There are still religions today that consider it they holy plant.

This is just a very broad issue, and a lot of people do not want to let the whole thing play out because it just goes against everything they have ever been taught, have ever heard, or have ever wanted to think otherwise. So all you can do is just leave it at that and agree to disagree.

So just because kids can gain access to it we should make it legal? BTW I bet I could make two or three phone calls and get my hands on some X, or cocaine, maybe we should make that legal next too. I mean if I just do it in my own home, then who am I hurting, right. But just make it so that you can only do it in the privacy of your own home? People that want to stay at home and get drunk in their own home don't pose a threat to anyone, they're just alcoholics. Which is totally safe, people drunk in their own home always make rational decisions and stay in their own home .

There are warnings, and it's considered taboo, to drink excessively, sure it happens but it's much harder to regulate an individuals consumption of alcohol.

Well type, as I type. Though I suppose it depends on your definition of drunk. I'll likely be capable of doing just about anything necessary of me tonight. Though I'm not planning on driving anywhere, or giving myself a breathalizer to see if I have had one too many to drive.
