That when he was high he would NEVER leave the house....As in not leaving while high and not putting others in danger. I took it as a joke. If he was seriously thinking about smoking weed and never leaving his house as a constant thing. AKA never getting a job, then that's something totally different.

I'll refer my kid to be a kid at 18 and 21 and I wouldn't want him doing this, I cannot believe others would be ok with it either if it was legal or not, it makes you hallucinate. How can you say you would be alright with watching your 18 year old son having hallucinations? This is just mindblowing to me.

I wasn't asking the question based on the intentions and affects of drinking a few beers and smoking a joint.

 

I was asking the question based on a completely legal stand point (leaving all religious views out).

 

As in, if marijuana were proven to be of the same harm, or less harmful to your body, and legal, would you have a problem watching or knowing that your child who is legally an adult smoke marijuana on his own property ?

My question for you STRIKE :

 

1.)Do you have a problem with people drinking alcohol ?

 

2.)Do you have a problem with people occasionally drinking alcohol with the intentions of getting drunk ?

I take it as a weakness and a charactor flaw. If you need a drug (and I include alcohol) to relax or have a good time, you need to look within yourself and your personality to find what is wrong.

 

In addition, personal experience with young people who use marijuana, most notable is the loss of ambition and I've never met one who realized it until they quit using.
