I think it depends on how much marijuana you have on you, but if you just have a joint, I believe in many states that is just a misdemeanor. I could be wrong though.

 

It is just a misdemeanor, however they will still go to jail for just one joint. Unless of course that oen joint is over 8oz, then it becomes a felony.

Birdsfan, I respect you more than almost any poster on this board, and like I said I am not condoning, I just hate to see something no matter what it is get ripped to shreds over something that is not even true when pertaining to it. Again, I seriously hope you would take the time to read the links I have provided.

You must not know many; there are lots of respectable professional people who do little more than an occasional or even a daily joint, the same way a white collar worker might unwind after work with a martini or a blue collar joe knocks back a beer or two. It only becomes a gateway drug if the user doesn't have the self-discipline to keep it from escalating. It's just as fallacious an argument as those who suggest one drink makes you an alcoholic.

It lacked 2% of the vote of getting legalized in Las Vegas. In Denver it as been so decriminalized that as long as you possess no more than an ounce you are not breaking the law.

Some states maybe, but Kentucky you will go to jail and if you rolling papers on you and no tobacco, that is Possesion of Drug Paraphernalia. A 2nd offense is a felony, no matter how long ago it was that you had your 1st offense.

Again, please read the links. I will say that any other drug you can name is very, very harmful, but I will never say that about Marijuana, in which should never have been classified a drug in the first place.
