Highlands has backup runningbacks that run just about as well as Connor does. Crawford, Head, and Fennell are still in the picture. Those are three tough and quick backs that are going to put up a lot of yards and points. Since we are now a "pass first" team, it would not suprise me to see atleast 3 passing touchdowns. The strongest point in this game should be the defense though. Highlands has some tough players guarding the endzone and I would be amazed if Ryle scored more than 14 points.

 

In the end, I beleive there will be two rushing TD's by one of the three runningbacks listed above, two passing TD's to Collinsworth, and another receiving TD to one of the tight ends.

Highlands will go up early and keep the lead

OKAY, so I got smart and read the 2 page thread about his injury. I am crushed. I missed the Male scrimmage but Beechwood scrimmage showed so much promise in this new offense. I think that Guidugli has the potential to have the arm like his brother and the legs of Cecil. I know that's bold, but if you've watched this kid, he has a lot of raw talent. I like the other opportunities in Crawford and Head. Crawford has speed and is shifty, Head is probably the hardest hitting kid on that team. If he gets the ball, you know what your getting--smash-mouth football. You can bet he will hit you. I sometimes wonder if he looks for people to hit. Those are the backs I like to watch. And remember fans, these 2 did play last year on varsity so it's not like this is a new concept for them.

Ryle's achilles heel, in big games, has notoriously been turning the ball over and giving up long tds. If they can protect the ball and tackle well, anything is possible. And I think their offense has opened up enough to score 24 points...even against the Birds.

Don't use the old "I was too busy getting married" excuse; no one believes that line any more. But we'll let it slide (this time) because of you past rabid support for the Birds. And I'm glad that you can now put the getting married stuff behind you and again concentrate on the more important things in life; like Highlands football. :D
