November 17, 200817 yr Camel Classic is this weekend at the Campbell County Middle School. Should be a ton of great games. Here are the teams that I know of that are participating. Campbell County (Purple & Gold), Holmes, Conner, Summit View, Mason County, Turkeyfoot, St. Mary's, Tichenor 8th, St. Joe's 8th, RA Jones 8th Also, 5th grade has a mix of school and AAU teams: IHM, Blessed Sacrament, Omega, Wildcats & Camels. Tichenor,Conner, Holmes and Summit are probably all favorites. Hard to say about CC Purple McGovneyless. St. Mary's will defense you to death but they have trouble scoring.
November 17, 200817 yr Inaugeral Turkeyshoot Middle School Basketball Tournament at NKU. This is scheduled for thanksgiving weekend. Its only $100 a team and gurantee 3 games. Anyone participating in this? They have a school division and AAU and its Grades 6-8th. I know the NKY Warriors 14U are looking into it.
November 17, 200817 yr Tichenor,Conner, Holmes and Summit are probably all favorites. Hard to say about CC Purple McGovneyless. St. Mary's will defense you to death but they have trouble scoring. Are you talking about the 8th grade brackets? St. Mary's is not on the original list of teams. St. Joes is on there though. Also, Jones Middle beat Tichenor last week at the Lloyd Invitational, but playing both Holmes and Summit View will be tough in their bracket. There should be some really good games this weekend.

November 18, 200817 yr Lincoln County 6th/7th/8th swept Boyle County last night. We play Lexington Catholic tonight in Lex. Our 8th grade team has beaten them every time we have played them since these kids were in 6th grade. Hopefully there won't be any "NEW" 6'5" additions to their team, LOL.:eek:

Hopefully there won't be any "NEW" 6'5" additions to their team, LOL.:eek: They do have a 6-3 / 6-4 kid, but he is the same one they have always had -- just keeping growing .... Catholic actually beat Scott County by 2 Saturday in a running clock Pan-o-rama at McNabb in 8th grade .... Portwood did not play for Scott County as he has been nursing a back injury all pre-season .... Scott County gets Catholic in SC's season opener tomorrow night .... Portwood is expected to play .... I expect a different outcome tomorrow night once the teams play a full game at full strength, but Catholic has a nice team .... They will do well this year .... Scott County will see a lot of them as they have a potential to play 4 times (3 on schedule and also in the same tournament) ....
November 18, 200817 yr Sounds good. Im hoping there are some competetive teams in it as Highlands has entered it just to get more games in during the break. I also heard that we were going to do another pair of games over the break with Brossart's 7th and 8th graders. Those were fun last year as both teams got a lot out of the intense play. I just forwarded word to the Newport 8th grade coach - hopefully they will get in.

November 19, 200817 yr Lincoln 6th grade lost by 14 7th grade won 8th grade won in overtime 48 to 43. It was a sad game. Lexington was in bonus within three to four mins of the first period!
