November 16, 200817 yr Author Clinton County 8th grade wins the Bowling Green Invitational by defeating Auburn (Logan County) by 35, Moss (Warren Central) by 8, and Warren East Middle by 10 in the championship. Moss Middle was heavily favored to win the tournament. Ian Asher established himself as one of the top 10 players in the class of 2013. He was by far the best player in the tournament and people in Bowling Green couldn't quit asking questions about him. He had 31 points in the win over Moss. I think Clinton 8th is for real and could pull a couple of upsets in the middle school state. Clinton County 8th is now 11-0 on the season. Moss is the only team to play them less than double digits.

Wow kunkel hits two game winning baskets in one day that is impressive.

November 16, 200817 yr Author He is a bigger, stronger version of the McNeil boy at Walton. Alot of the same offensive type moves except he jumps alot better and goes to hole a little stronger. He doesn't like to break down and guard anyone but he is an incredible shot blocker (big deal). His court vision and passing ability are second to none, a little like pistol pete with the no looks. Good shooter, great at getting to the rim, terrific passer, quick, strong, doesn't want to defend, loves to make great plays, needs to focus less on that and just make basketball plays. About 5' 11" 170. He has "it". You know, the little something you just can't teach. A couple of people I know who have watched both multiple times thinks he is better than Sanders from South but I'm not sure yet, but both are outstanding and I think Sanders is more complete but Asher might have more upside. I would love to have Sanders at the point and Asher at the 2.

Give the kid credit, he knocked it down! Conner's kids do have toughness.

I feel your pain on the missed bunnies. For some reason kids at this age get tight from 2 feet from the hole.

Heard the coach at Summit View was asked if they'd be interested. He forwarded the invite to the school A.D. Haven't heard anything else though. They put on a real nice tourney though. We played in it a couple of years ago. Keep you updated as soon as I hear something.

Im hoping there are some competetive teams in it as Highlands has entered it just to get more games in during the break. I also heard that we were going to do another pair of games over the break with Brossart's 7th and 8th graders. Those were fun last year as both teams got a lot out of the intense play.

November 17, 200817 yr Highlands plays Camp.Co Gold tonight both 7th and 8th. 8th graders should not have a problem as the A team for the 8th grade is purple.
November 17, 200817 yr Camel Classic is this weekend at the Campbell County Middle School. Should be a ton of great games. Here are the teams that I know of that are participating. Campbell County (Purple & Gold), Holmes, Conner, Summit View, Mason County, Turkeyfoot, St. Mary's, Tichenor 8th, St. Joe's 8th, RA Jones 8th Also, 5th grade has a mix of school and AAU teams: IHM, Blessed Sacrament, Omega, Wildcats & Camels.
