November 19, 200817 yr It was kinda a joke......Lexington Catholic has no middle school they draw from all the private schools in their region as well as the public schools, this is the reason they are not allowed in the state tournament...they are not a school team!

November 19, 200817 yr Meece middle (Somerset) went to Knox Central and took 2 of 3 games. The 6th grade won by double digits, 7th grade won by 2, and the 8th grade lost by 13. Knox has a good program with a really good coach. Look out for them down the road.

November 19, 200817 yr FYI...Summit View starts with Holmes in the CC tourney @ 11am Saturday then has RA Jones @ 5. Should be a good game... Holmes moved a couple players up but Covington always has a ton of talent sitting around...
November 19, 200817 yr Highlands 7th beat Blessed Sac 50 to 15 I believe last night. Highlands 8th beat their 8th grade boys 42 to 31 Im almost positive. It should have been a larger margin but the Birds struggled from the Free Throw line making only 14 of 26 and all 13 kids played which is nice. Collinsworth and McCoy led the Birds in scoring. Next up is Gray Middle on Thursday at home for the Birds 7th/8th.

Im not being facetious either, well maybe the beard part:D I know they got beat eventually but man that guard they had was physically more mature than any kid in that tournament and looked like a senior in HS.

Its early in the season also, things could change for many teams once eligibility starts being enforced. I am not trying to sound negative but I know lineups always change as the season goes along and some dont.

I know they moved McClendon up but did they move the point guard from last year up as well? He was very quick and when he played under control was tough to stop.

Yes Knox Central has the same team as last year. The big man you are referring to is about 6'4. It didn't look like he had grown taller, but he was stronger. Cannidy is the guard you are talking about. He is a solid player. He was dunking in warm ups. The big man was also dunking it in warm ups. Not bad for an 8th grade team to have two kids dunking in warm ups. :eek:

Catholic actually beat Scott County by 2 Saturday in a running clock Pan-o-rama at McNabb in 8th grade .... Portwood did not play for Scott County as he has been nursing a back injury all pre-season .... Scott County gets Catholic in SC's season opener tomorrow night .... Portwood is expected to play .... I expect a different outcome tomorrow night once the teams play a full game at full strength, but Catholic has a nice team .... They will do well this year .... Scott County will see a lot of them as they have a potential to play 4 times (3 on schedule and also in the same tournament) .... From what was said at the Panorama, Portwood did play, unless they have to boys that are over 6" foot. Mason County was also in their bracket and beat Lexington Cath, Mcnabb(Montgomery) and should have beat Scott, but gave up a little to early

No, I remember the BIG blonde kid, but there was one I don't remember who looked like he was a sophomore. I have never seen a middle school game with more HORRIBLE refereeing! It was almost funny it was soooooo bad! Our tallest kid, who I think scored 25 against them last year had to sit the whole first half with 2 fouls and eventually fouled out in the 3rd quarter. It was pitifully called and we were lucky to get the win for that reason. We were fortunate that ALL our kids played well, in spite of the MANY fouls and 3 second calls and 5 second calls, etc. But I guess that's the way it goes when you play them on their floor! I really wasn't that impressed with them and I say good luck to Scott County - kick their butts for Lincoln!:thumb:
