Letter from Bob and Walt to Reds fans

Featured Replies

Also I don't see many GMs emailing fans.

You don't think Walt was behind this, do you?

I think it was a great idea, I am not complaining. But it was still funny. I actually agree with what they have done, it's time to blow up the boat and build another one. The old one didn't float.

It says from Bob and Walt.

Interesting there was no mention of Volquez in the letter.
I noticed that, too ... maybe they didn't want to give Krivsky some credit or they are still smarting from having traded Josh Hamilton.

Their reference to Dusty is intriguing, too.

Maybe Volquez wasn't included because he isn't a burgeoning young player when compared to the Big-3

So when they don't say anything people complain, and when they do it's the same? That's Cincinnati for ya....

I'd cut the fans of Cincinnati some slack. The Reds and Bengals have been varying degrees of bad for a really long time now.

As a point of reference, there are Cincinnatians old enough to vote in November's elections who don't ever remember seeing a Reds playoff appearance, and can only remember one Bengal playoff game in their lifetime as well.

I think some chirping about anything asking Reds fans to be patient is understandable. :walk:

Is there anything wrong with what they said? What is wrong with building for the future?

Thats what I was thinking. They are just thanking the fans.

Lol ... I think it's a little ironic (or genius possibly) that this came out when everyone in Cinci is all upset about the Chris Henry signing.

It's just too bad that the only people that still care about the Reds are only on this message board.

I'm not sure Cincinnati realizes they still have a professional baseball team anymore.

Very true... I think that was the point... Hey look the Bengals are idiots too and can't run an organization look at us we're still here just hang in a little bit longer!

No chance Walt wanted any of this. This is pure marketing and came from the Big Man.

As a Reds fan,I just want to thank the GM's for the letter.it is good to know that they're trying to put a winner out there on the field, may take a while, but in the long run I think these guys will get it done.JMO.

I think they began building for the future in the late 90's. When does that future arrive?

When does that future arrive?

When you actually build for it the right way. I think they are finally on that path...
