August 19, 200818 yr Considering this is coming from a non Bengal fan, however if I were, I'd be much more enthused about a defensive upgrade. But that's why the Bengals stay the Bengals, good ole Mike and his crack decision making. (Not to be confused with making decisions on crack!) I can't see how it would be any different where Mike Brown is concerned. Dear Lord I wish the Bengals could be bought by someone who actually cares about fielding a competitive team.

Henry. A few thoughts: It's hypocritical, fraudulent and lacks integrity. It casts M. Lewis in a bad light. It cuts his authority off at the knees. Other than that, great move. "Not interested,'' Lewis said less than a week ago, when Henry's agent said he'd been talking with the team about his client's return. Not: "Not interested unless Chad or TJ gets hurt.'' Not interested. This was almost certainly Mike Brown's doing. He brings back a guy whose record is bad, whose reliability is questionable and whose productivity last year was not much. All it cost was Lewis' authority. Anyone who was here for Bruce Coslet's reign knows what I mean. Once players know it's not the coach calling the shots, the coach is toast. Is that worth a receiver with 5 arrests in 3 years? There is absolutely no good reason to justify this move. All the rhetoric about having "good people''? BS. All the talk of "character'' . It's not even about Henry. He could be forever changed. He could be a tenor in the Vienna Boys Choir. Good for him. He has a right to work if he's paid his price. It's about an organization that has betrayed its principles, its fans and the authority of its head coach. No player is worth that.

I blame Rich Rod at WVU because if he had done the right thing years ago nobdy would even remember who Chris Henry was!

Houshmandzadeh slowed by injuries. Cincinnati began showing interest in Henry last month when an assault charge stemming from an incident March 31 was dropped, agent Marvin Frazier said. Henry recently told ESPN.com that he would stay out of trouble if given another chance by an NFL team. "I just have to be smart and handle myself like a professional at all times," he said. Henry still must serve a four-game suspension imposed by the NFL for violating the league's personal conduct policy. Henry was suspended for the first eight games last season, also for violating the league's conduct policies. He played in the last eight games, but had only 21 catches for 343 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the No. 3 receiver. The Bengals have struggled in the past when Henry was not on the field. During a search, marijuana was found in his shoes. He was also driving without a valid driver's license or valid insurance. * January 30, 2006: Henry was arrested in Orlando, Florida for multiple gun charges including concealment and aggravated assault with a firearm. He was reported to have been wearing his #15 Bengals jersey at the time of his arrest. Henry pleaded guilty and avoided jail time in both cases. * May 4, 2006: Cincinnati media reported that Henry was being investigated by Covington, Kentucky police in connection with a sex crime which allegedly occurred in a Covington hotel room in the early morning of April 30, 2006.
