Henry Back to the Bengals

Featured Replies

I understand the sentiment but don't fool yourself into thinking Chris Henry is just another third WR. When he's playing, he's the best "third WR" out there, in my opinion. He's only a 3rd WR because the two ahead of him are two of the best in the game.

Explain why no one else needed "the best third WR out there"...

Easy. He's obviously a huge risk and other owners are smart enough to stay away. My previous post was simply saying don't get caught up in the fact that Henry is a "third WR". He's much more talented than that.

Exactly! What's easy to ALL other organizations in the NFL is not for Brown and Lewis. They deserve the mediocre product that they put on the field year after year. And, no matter how you slice it, he wasn't good enough for any other team to take a risk on him.

I'm pretty close to not being a Bengals fan at all...

I totally understand what you're saying and I'm in agreeance with you. I was just pointing out the fact that he's not a typical 3rd WR talent-wise.

And I agree with your last statement as well. If it weren't for TJ and Carson, I don't know if I would be.

:thumb: Don't get me wrong, he is talented.

Looks like a 6-10 year to me, but I could see them maybe squeezing 2 more wins out at most. I also could see them winning only 4 too...

Ok I've come around on this. Good for Mike Brown. He's never know what in the world he's been doing. He finally brings in a coach and gives him some control including making personell decisions. He ends up proving to be for the most part not that good of a talent evaluator. The good players he does draft are just b/c nobody else wants to take a chance on them b/c of their risk. Carson Palmer was an absolute no brainer. Besides that how many people are still big contributors that he's been here for a draft? It's time for Brown to take back over. It's gone so well in the past.

In Marvin's defense his only scouts were himself and his assiatant coaches.

What a joke of an organazation that still sells out every game.

I haven't read the previous pages in this thread but , unlike P-Doc, I'm not going along with the "Marv was cut off at the knees" crap. Marv had plenty of chances to learn from his mistakes and he chose to keep on ignoring problem children. What did Malcolm X say about chickens coming home to roost?

I'm glad he's been cut off at the knees. The only way for a chance now is for Carson to make demands. I heard today on sports talk that Brown will consider it a failure if they win the Super Bowl and he wasn't totally in charge of personell. I think that may be true. He doesn't want a successful GM. He wants to win but only if he puts the team together. I hope Carson walks.
