July 30, 200818 yr So far the Pirates are asking too much...I'm sure Tampa Bay is hoping for the same treatment the Yankees got in the Nady-Marte deal ...
July 30, 200818 yr He can still hit, but he's not the same player he was a few years ago. I didn't think Molina could do it every day. This is huge...
July 30, 200818 yr Go figure, another old player for the Yankees! Once again the Yankees start one of the most impressive offensive lineups in baseball and once again this team will lose in the 1st round of the playoffs when they face decent pitching.
July 30, 200818 yr :dancingpa This is great news for the Yankees. This is the last season in Yankee Stadium (the Holy Cathedral of MLB baseball), I hope that the Yankees send it out in style with Championship #27. Wake up the echo's!!
July 30, 200818 yr Brandon IngeUnless they make a move, Sardinha will backup Inge. They have a solid defensive catcher, named St. Pierre in AAA and a big body, that will get better in AA in Ryan.
July 31, 200818 yr They lose one of the top catchers in the game for the season and replace him with one of the few guys who may actually be better... That's par for the course for the Yankees. How will they market the ARod/IRod combo? Obviously, the Yanks are concerned about winning this year and that understandable, but what is Pudge's contract situation? Is this the last year? If not, how will things play out when Posada returns next year?
July 31, 200818 yr If Posada's surgery and early recovery go well, I think they will let Pudge just walk away at the end of the season. If Jorge's surgery/recovery don't look good then look for Yanks to keep him. At this point he is just another mercenary in a long line of Yankee mercenaries.
