3wishes, you are soooo right. It will take total dedication from the boys to get to where Coach Larkey wants them to be. If they will buy into what he wants then yes, the sky is the limit for the Black Bears.

 

This is a good reason to have a large football team. If the first guy can't or will not do something then there will be somebody that will.

What is the deal with Powell Co. I am hearing that they might not of thought this thing through and acting to fast by dropping Harlan Co. Anybody have any info?

Well my big scoop has died out, but to the business people that tried good job, and bear fans here's hoping that you can get a bowl game. Let's hope that Powell Co has a change of heart and gets back in the district race, it would be better for all involved.

You are exactly right about other factors taken into consideration. My so, for instence, is a good, solid, high school player, but we all know these type kids are a dime a dozen. The reason that he is getting a constant stream of football letters is no doubt becuse he has never made a B since kindergarten and mmade a 30 on the ACT. Ha has also be distinguished every year that he has taken the state test. Dont get me wrong...Im proud of his accomplishments on the field but I am much prouder of his accomplishments in the classroom. Yes, those things make a big difference to college recruiters!

I heard a noise outside my house this morning and I stepped out back and there was a large hungry black bear. He was turning over garbage cans that we keep chicken feed in. All at once this hungry bear tore out running straight toward me. I froze! It came charging down that hill and ran right by me, grabbed one of the boys football off my back porch and the last I seen him he was headed South toward Ball Park Road looking for that goal line!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These black bears in Harlan County are getting hungry for some FOOTBALL!!!!

I betcha that "Loretta" could be made into a reality. The Coal Mining Museum has some of her belongings that she has donated. Somebody up in Cumberland knows somebody, who knows somebody.....Somebody get Loretta on the phone!!! Tell her we need her to sing at our first home game. We want the Breathitt County fans to not be totally disappointed when they go home.

Took a sneak peek at the Black Bears football field, the grass is coming in nicely and the bleachers look awesome painted black and cardinal. Only three home games we better make them count!
