Don't quote me on this but I think that the pass scrimmages are over. Practice starts tomorrow. As far as camp goes, they are going to Jaybezz or how ever you spell it. I think Bullitt East and South Laurel will be down there.

What about team speed? Did we seem to match up with everyone pretty well?

 

Overall team speed went to Harlan County. Overall Harlan County had more athletes than any team down there. That is why I am saying, give Larkey some more time with these kids and they will only get better and its really up to the kids as to how good they want to be. Several kids stood out from each corner of the county but I will not name names because I will forget someone.

Is the Powell County game a possibility of being on again?

I am not familiar with name's but it seemed that thier timing was MUCH better than it was the last time they were at Union. Also their defense had really improved. The thing that I noticed the most is how the kids were interacting with each other and cutting up with each other. They were just having a great time. It just goes to show that these kids can help bring a county together. I enjoyed watching that more than I did watching them play.

We all have to get together and meet somewhere and travel together over to Letcher Central to root our boys on. I have heard talk of tailgating which sounds great. I know I will be there with my Black, Cardinal and White on cheering as loud as I can. I know, it is still over a month away but I just can't sit still thinking about it.:dancingpa

It's my understanding that the boys will be doing car washes in all 3 corners of the county this Saturday so don't make your wives get out and wash your cars and let these boys earn some money! I think you can buy some Black Bear t-shirts, hats, decals, ect at these car washes also. Excellent idea! Let's support our boys!

So how did the first official day of practice go for the Black Bears? How many were out for varsity? How many out for freshmen? Who were the no shows?

Blanton for one team and Williamson for the other. Polson is playing WR and Safety with Green playing RB,SE on offense right now.

I'm sure they were probably practicing the EKU Card Drill then. Rockcastle County did that every year. 10/100's 8/80's 6/60's 4/40's and 2/20's. All sprinting under a time limit.
