As a former player of Coach Larkey I think that everyone needs to understand that He does not care what they did in the past, nor does he care about what the kids last name is, who is family is, or how "popular" an athlete is. What he wants is someone on his team that will be dedicated 365. Selflessness, unselfish and desire is what he wants. He will not get fancy, he wants to excel in 3 things, running, blocking and tackling. He wants tough kids, if you're a cry baby stay home with the babies. He is fair and stern, and that is what I love about him. Good luck HCC!

There could be a big announcement concerning the schools in Harlan Co in the next week, if things go well it might be one of the best things to happen for football in a very long time. It also might just send a message that things are changing for the better in our neck of the woods. I can't get into specifics for it may cause something to go wrong and that would be terrible.

We have a large group of strong, excited, healthy, home-grown, corn fed mountain boys ready to play some football.

I am all for good news but if a bowl game is your good news for the County, I am not sold that it will happen just yet. If I am wrong about the news, I can't wait and hope it is truly good news! We people in Harlan County could always use some good news!

I don't think we should start sizing the boys for state championship rings just yet, but things are looking good!

The kids all seem to be getting along great, the coaching staff seems to be real cooperative and our head coach is a true leader. Everybody in the whole county is ready for some Black Bear Football!! :ylsuper:

 

I'm serious when I tell you that EVERYBODY is excited, even if it is outta curiousity, the Bears have a lot of support from one end of the county to the other. WOOT!

Excitement is the community and the school will go a long way in a football program.

I hope it is something about a new football field/stadium.
