Last season I'll give you but you can't honestly tell me that he hasn't been extremely fragile over his big league career--you're better than that.
May 5, 200818 yr I would assume that if the Reds dumped Arroyo, Dunn, and Griffey that the $25M to $30M would get put to good use. Therefore, I would say until he proves he can't play short that Keppinger plays there, Gonzo is a utility infielder and E-5 stays at 3rd. Freel cannot be the leadoff hitter. He's proven that.

Some injury issues over a decade are nothing to be overly concerned about. And it's not like with Keppy, E-5, BP and Votto there isn't a contingency plan if Gonzo goes down. Actually I really liked him during his year in Boston. He's fun to watch in the field, he can handle the bat pretty well, and he's pretty clutch. I also learned that if you count on him to be in the lineup there's a good chance you'll be disappointed. 130 games in a season does not make him an ironman, he's still missing at least a game a week. But hey, if you want to depend on him go ahead--see how it works out for you.

My list had him covered when he's out, and counts on him for nothing more than a solid presence when available. Good try to spin it your way though...

The bolded part pretty much says the same thing I did that you orginally acted like you disagreed with me about. You went through all the other stuff to defend him and then basically said right there that you weren't counting on him--you could have saved us both a lot of trouble and simply said: Nice guy, nice player--can't count on him but we can cover his absences. :lol::lol::lol:

E5 can pick over there at third base he just has an erratic arm... He usually makes the tough plays but the easy ones he thinks too much... I still think he can be a really good 3B, but its all mental...

Keppy at 3rd, Gonzo at SS, BP at 2B and Votto at 1st. With Dunn and JR gone, there is plenty to spend on the rest of the roster... Looks good. :thumb: If we had had you instead of Leather Pants, maybe we wouldn't be in the situation we are in now.
