May 5, 200818 yr I would think they would move Votto to LF and E-5 to 1B if they move him at all. Votto has been much better than advertised at 1st. I'd leave him there...
May 5, 200818 yr Bruce will be in RF... In roundabout way I had it right the 1st time with E-7, I think:creepy:

May 5, 200818 yr Votto has been much better than advertised at 1st. I'd leave him there... I agree. I had heard by (apparently unreliable:D) resources that Votto was lacking in the D department. So far he has proven those detractors incorrect.

I have loved watching him so far. How much longer before we see Bruce? I know he's not ready but at what point do we have nothing to lose?
May 5, 200818 yr I have loved watching him so far. How much longer before we see Bruce? I know he's not ready but at what point do we have nothing to lose? Dusty thinks Patterson is the greatest centerfielder since Jerome Walton. So no chance of seeing Bruce unless CP gets hurt or Dunn/Griffey get traded.

I don't think we'll see Bruce for a little while. What's the date we all went crazy about last year with Bailey? There is a cutoff date that determines when a player starts towards arbitration time.

May 5, 200818 yr Bruce is struggling in AAA right now. His average is down to .284. He'll be called up when he's needed.

Dusty thinks Patterson is the greatest centerfielder since Jerome Walton. So no chance of seeing Bruce unless CP gets hurt or Dunn/Griffey get traded. It's not that he isn't ready, or that Patterson is such a great centerfielder. The thing is Bruce IS NOT a centerfielder. He's already facing huge expectations and a huge adjustment in competition when he comes up. There's not point in putting him in a position on defense and a position in the batting order that he isn't familiar and/or comfortable with too. If he were the difference in making the playoffs it would be one thing but he can't save this Reds team. However, making a mistake and destroying his confidence could wreck future Reds lineups.

May 5, 200818 yr Bruce is struggling in AAA right now. His average is down to .284. He'll be called up when he's needed. Freel can get on base, but gets picked off and his horrid on defense. Patterson can't get on base, so he doesn't get picked off, but at least he can play defense. Hairston, whom HT put in Cooperstown after his 1st start two weeks ago, has plummeted back to earth after his first two games in being called up. I guess he has since been buried on the bench. Hatteberg has been forgotten about since Votto took over the starting role at 1B. Why not bring up Bruce, everyone else has had a shot, give him one. If anyone is worried about red-tape contract/running out of options, free agency clock starting or whatever that crap means. Just sign him to a 10 year, 210 million dollar contract.
May 5, 200818 yr Sure do wish the current OFers would be "stuggling" like that. He has struck out like 30 times in 100 at bats. Something like that I forget the exact numbers.
