In a marked escalation of recent vandalism in the area, a savage attack was executed last night on a young Banana tree plant. Officials say this level of destruction is clearly beyond the scope of a small crustacean and is most likely the work of an organized gang or possibly even a terrorist organization. New photos from last night's vandalism seem to support the theory that this was not, as had been previously suggested, the work of local crawdads, moles, or other subterranian vermin. Sources close to the investigation cite the size of the crater, the amount of soil removed, and the fact that the victim was clearly in a contained location at the time of the incident, as proof that this is a far more serious situation than first believed.

Funny thing is, that is actually one of the two "babies" of our original banana tree plant; which is upstairs, on the deck. That one was sitting down back in a pot because we don't know what else to do with it.

I just called the local hospital. They won't update Banana Tree Jr.'s condition. They say we must contact the next of kin.
