How is it that everyone thinks Slone is good enough to make it at UK but they bash Arrez as not good enough? Didn't he hold Slone to 7 points when he defended him?

From what I have read nobody has "bashed" Henderson. Why is that even necessary in this thread?

Thats foolish why would you bring negativity to this thread??

Congrats to Sloan. From what I have been told by some people I know in Paintsville Sloan will go the first year as a prefered walk on and be given a scholarship the next year. Word also has it that Richie Farmer was VERY instrumental in this.

Exactley...Both of these young men are very deserving.

Congratulations - was really impressed with his play at the state tourney. Its always nice to see Kentucky boys in Wildcat Blue.

I have a hard time believing that Kentucky would promise a scholarship at any time to a player that, as of a couple of weeks ago, didn't have another Division I offer.

Richie looking for votes? ;)

What is the difference between "walk-on" and "preferred walk-on"? Does it simply mean that preferred walkon's don't have to try out? I wonder what set of rules they are under. The ones that applied to Mike Williams or the ones that applied to Dusty Mills?

I believe that a preferred walk-on has an automatic roster spot just no scholarship money, and a Dusty Mills type walk-on had to compete in a try-out.

Because the player is from a Mtn. team! Any player from the 15th, 16th, or any other Mtn. region gets clobbered on any site on the internet.

One game doesn't mean anything!!

Actually, it does. It's probably one of the few times in Slone's career that he has been defended by a Division I-caliber athlete and player.

I know he lit Jeffersontown up for 35 points, and the Chargers had plenty of athletes and quickness. But their defense was simply poor across the board in that game.

One thing I love is knowing that Slone will be taking charges and diving on the floor in practice. :thumb:
