Scott Co without a doubt has one of the best programs in the state. I just feel the KHSAA needs to step in and make these kids sit out a year who are moving and transferring just got athletic reasons.

 

Its not right for the kids who play by the rules and bust their tails all year long to be denied a chance at winning a state championship simply because a school has transfers coming in from around the state to keep their tradition alive.

Maybe you can give us some background on how the Johnson brothers grew up in Covington, but then transferred to Taft, and played there as freshmen, only to again transfer back to Holmes and be eligible this year? :confused: Taft and Holmes are basically a stone throw from one another in the same city, so it couldn't have been a job change or anything like that.

So it seems to be the same situation Euton was facing this year. A job is cut, and another oppertunity becomes available.

No....Josh Nelson started last season for Holmes on the State Final 4 team. He stepped back and did an admiral job coming off the bench for the Bulldogs this year. He's a great story, I love the way this kid responded to this situation.

You might want to check your map first. Holmes is located in Covington, KY. Taft High is located in Cincinnati, OH.

Not sure about Nelson. I know he grew up in the Covington system and went there his freshman year, but just didn't play basketball. He started last year though as a junior on the state final 4 team.

Shelby County should be good with 4 great returning sophmores.

Ouch! Be careful to call someone out that they might find the skeletons in your closet! Same story, different place. I think we have settled that problem.

GRC had a great season this year and return 4 starters. We have 5 Freshmen that played varsity, 2 started and the 3rd saw valuable minutes. Several have picked them to be the favorite in the 10th region.

I agree with GRC being the favorite in the 10th this upcoming year. They looked awfully good this year but had the state champion in the same region as them.

IMO Southwestern maybe the team to beat in the 12th this year. I realize that you also have the teams of Lincoln, East and West Jessamine, Somerset I think that you get my point but I really think that the Warriors will be the team to beat.

In order of regions my top 10 is:

J-town, Manual, Holmes, GRC, Scott Co, Dunbar, Madison Central, Hazard, Shelby Valley, Elliott Co.

Holmes returns 2 starters in the Johnsons and the way Pittman played at Rupp, I would say Holmes could be preseason #1.
