What was Mason from the stripe?

It is refreshing to see the art of shooting the basketball showcased. It is a lost art, but was evident tonight. I get sick of watching all of these teams that make it to Rupp Arena and still can not shoot the basketball. These two teams can. It's refreshing!

:eek: defintly an eye opener for Mason. They are going to have to step their game up if they want to cut the nets down. From all accounts, Holmes seemed to be the most impressive in the first round. If they play like they did tonight, they may go home tommorrow, they defintly won't win it all. Congrats to Elliott for a fine season, and proving you belong with the big boys. Next year just might be your year.

That was a great ball game. I don't think Miller really plays his tail off, but he did get the job done tonight. He did a great job drawing the defense and getting Setty some great open looks. He also got some huge offensive rebounds down the stretch. Elliott Co. really played their tails off. Like I said, great game.

 

I do believe Mason Co. will have their hands full with Paducah Tilghman.

The boys from Sandy Hook earned the respect of the crowd at Rupp and the state tonight.

 

Up 7 with four minutes to go in the game and momentum in an Elliot black jersey, it took three clutch 3-balls to bring the Royals back and put them in position to win the game.

Mason County can sleep-walk to the finals in that lower bracket. Their opponents will be Tilghman, Hazard or Shelby County.

If Mason plays like they did tonight against PT, they'll be going home earlier than expected, as they have the athleticism to keep up. With that said, I think Mason will come out more focused and ultimately move on, but, they will definately have to play better...

I'm still trying to figure out if Tilghman was that good tonight, OR if the Greenwood Dragons made them look that good.

 

I expect the Royals to come out much more focused tomorrow night and take care of business.

Some of these responses are just like the pregame responses. Mason County may be the better team, and may yet win. But sometimes people act like Mason County is some unstoppable force. They had to pull their butt out of the fire tonight. Who's to say that the same thing won't happen tomorrow?

I admit I haven't seen Mason play much at all this year, but is it normal for a Mr. Basketball candidate to be the 3rd option on offense? Middleton and Setty had the offense running through them, and I wouldn't say Elliot had a shut down defender on Miller. The only time Miller was involved on the offensive end was shooting a jumper from the top of the key or putting back an offensive rebound.

 

I'm also interested to see if PT is as good as they looked today, or if Greenwood is that bad...

I'm thinking a mix of both. Greenwood sure didn't sound like the team that I'd seen for the second half of the year.
