Not asking for negatives. This is the first time I have seen the team and I am not going to be shy with my opinions about it. You shouldnt either. Who would he replace?

 

Ah, 90% of Elliott County knows who I am, so I'll just say that Maynard is too good of a shooter to be watching the game.

Everytime Miller touched the ball, he was fouled, but never got the call. The fouls were very lopsided to start the second half. They might have evened out at the end, but the refs weren't a factor against Elliott County.

 

Pretty much everyone has said that there were some very bad no calls at the end of the game. That's all I'm talking about.

Umm... I was about as neutral as you could get. I was rooting for the 10th region yet really liked the feel good story of Elliot when they were making their run. The refs missed a few calls late in the game which were in the favor of MC...

I would have loved to seen EC pull the upset. We were gonna storm the floor.. hehe

Best HS game I've ever witnessed. Proud of those Faulkner boys and all the rest too.

Already getting excited waiting on next year.

There's no excuse. An adjustment should have been made, but wasn't. Kudos to Setty for actually hitting the shots, but he was wide open.

Miller cannot play in the SEC. I've watched him play 5 times this year and only one time have I been the least bit impressed(4th quarter of Catholic game). He's just not that good of a basketball player folks. I dont care what anyone thinks about it and if you think he's the real deal then you need to take the blue shades off. Dont get me wrong he is a super high school athlete and I'm not taking anything away from him but he has been over hyped by people ever since he signed with UK.

Ferguson scored 17 or so points with Miller guarding him. That's a pretty good game. Everyone sitting around me said "foul him!!!" when Miller had the ball late. The calls at the end were crucial but helping off Setty is what really killed Elliott. All he can do is shoot the lights out, so why help off?

 

Miller didnt exactly give his all on that end of the floor. Several of his buckets were in transition.

Elliott was a defensive stop away from it being mountain madness in Lexington. 14-16th region would have advanced past the first round for the first time since I couldn't tell ya.

You are being a little harsh here. He has weaknesses to his game, like anyone else coming out of high school. He is a good ballhandler for his size, plays team ball, finds his teammates, creates shots for himself and others, goes to the boards good, etc. He didnt look like a great shooter (free throws and otherwise), doesnt always go 100%, and wont kill you on the block either. He has improving to do, but he will be able to play at that level. He set up just about all the points Setty had tonight, got a big board at the end and knocked down the free throws. I wasnt blown away, but I didnt hate what I saw either.

Let me start by congratulating the boys from Sandy Hook for putting up such a fierce fight.Next Congrats to my royals survive and advance,Thats all that really matters at this point no matter if it is ugly.I'm not going to get into a long discussion here but the overall fouls were in favor of Elliott and Mason missed almost all there free throws and Elliott made almost all theres,But i all keep seeing is excuses why Mason got lucky and won and why Elliott shouldn't have lost.Gees both teams played hard and when it really mattered Mason rose to the top and took the game from Elliott.Good luck tomm night guys lets get a better game face on for this one.
