It's absolutely hilarious to read these posts obout the officiating!! Depending on who you rooted for, the officials missed calls for your schools. One side says the officials favored Mason, the other says the officials favored Elliott. It just goes to show you that fans see what they want to see. They see calls "missed" on their team but they don't see the same "missed" calls on the other end.

I seen calls missed both ways. The refs weren't ready for this level of competition.

Elliot Co. has nothing to hang their heads over at all, I know that the players probably don't realize that now but trust me, you will. Elliot - you have had another great run, back to back 16th region titles and with what you have coming back I will pick you again untill someone beats you.

Why does the Mason County coach keep Miller on the perimeter so much? In games like this one, it would seem to me he needs to post up and play inside a lot more. I realize that's not how it will be when he gets to UK, but in high school you play where you're the most effective.

I think Elliot county played a really good game. I believe a lot of people expected for them to get blown out.

My one and only post from my hotel room in the Raddison and the Sweet 16 on a Friday afternoon. Elliott proved that as a bunch of juniors with one senior and one freshman that they can play with anybody in the state. Returning the entire starting five they will be a TOP 5 pre-season team next year. I believed in this team when they got beat by 7 at Rose Hill and by 29 at Mason. The naysayers were waiting for the blow-out in Rupp and that they don't belong in the TOP 20. Wasn't going to happen because these kids have to much talent, pride, discipline, character, sheer determination, and will to win. They had something to prove to the Rupp crowd and the state of Kentucky. That is---We belong with the best and we can play with the best!!!

 

Can't wait until next year and my dozen or so 2.5 hour drives to Sandy Hook and I plan on seeing at least 20 Elliott games next year even if I have to drive 4 hours!! I love this team and the odds they overcome each and every year now for the last 3 years. These are some special young men and Elliott County should be prouder than anybody for what they have accomplished and what they will accomplish. THEY WILL BRING THE CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY BACK TO SANDY HOOK IN MARCH 2009 AND THE MOVIE HOOSIERS 2 WILL FOLLOW A FEW YEARS LATER!!!! Thanks guys for the wonderful ride and I can't wait until this November and many more special moments!!!

This is America Baby as Don King would say--and I believe in the impossible and miracles, and teams like the Lions that defy the odds. I will root them on to the State Championship next March and again the naysayers will be hushed by the boys from the Hook!!!

I agree and an excellent basketball game by two teams was played here. A few posters do not deserve to be acknowledged. If someone wants to tear down accomplishments of others in every post they make, Let it be.

I agree 100%. Mason should be home right now. Didn't play with heart or hustle!

The only thing that will be missing is the spark from the bench, Maynard Who is going to step up and hit the big shot when needed?:confused:

No one even going to mention when Miller ran over Ferguson (i think) on the baseline and a block was called on Elliott. The whole arena it seemed disagreed with that call.

What's this about "The Real Mason Co." showing up Friday? It looked to me as if they showed up tonight, but Elliott just outplayed them at times.

You act as if it were some kind of fluke that EC kept up with them. Outside of the zebra's choking on their whistles the last 2 min. of the game. Elliott Co. WINS this ballgame.

Both were the Refs. fault and not the teams fault...........................
