Miller is a heck of a talent but he got away with alot of stuff tonight that the refs just flat out missed. He was over the back several times on rebounds. Also, everytime he touched it in the paint it was an automatic 3-point play chance because they were going to call a foul no matter what happened.

 

It's not a foul when you out jump someone is it? Miller didn't get away with much, Elliott got away with quite a bit as well. I really liked the shoulders TK threw on his screens, nice little foul he got away with. And maybe it was a three point play chance because everytime he got the ball in the paint, someone would grab his shoulders and another on his arm, which in my book is a foul. I was about as close as the refs were and Miller was getting killed when he got the ball in the paint.

 

I thought the refs missed a lot on both ends, and no favor to either team.

That three, I thought it hit the ceiling. It was the highest arc I have ever seen on a shot.

I just got home from the game myself. Elliott had this game won if not for the zebra's choking on their whistles as previously mentioned.

I'm very proud of my boys down in Sandy Hook. They've got heart like I've never seen at the high school level. Congrat's on a great season guys, and looking forward to next year.

I don't care if you jump over the backboard. If you are boxed out and you jump on someone's back, its a foul. I couldn't see good enough to say anything else about the 3-point plays because I was sitting at half court and not under the basket. They missed a big call when Ferguson was fouled with about a minute to go and they didn't call it.

If bad calls lost the game why did Mason County have more fouls called on them then Elliot County did. I wonder this does not add up. Mason county was also not very good at foul shots tonight. They will really have to pick it up tomorrow night or everyone may be headed back to Maysville. I still want to see the 10th region pull it out. Go Royals !

He didn't play at all in the first quarter. He comes in early in the 2nd and immediately hits a crucial 3-point to help keep Elliott in the game. I won't say anything negative about any of the kids, but if I were running the team, Maynard would have been a starter this season. Just my opinion of course.

Elliott was fun to watch tonight. The Faulkner's play hard and I was impressed with them. Ferguson looks like a good player, but not the player that many have made him out to be on here. I was impressed with the big freshman, Knipp. Not that he necessarily did a great amount, but he moves well for a freshman that size and looks like he could be a very good ball player down the road.

 

Setty definitely is a very good shooter, but no way was he the best player on the floor or MC's teams. Just about all of his 3's came from Miller drawing the D and Miller kicking it to him for the shot. Miller set all that up. If Elliott's coach says dont help off like some other schools have done this year, then Setty is a non factor. He doesnt do much for MC outside of shooting the ball. Miller is easily the best high school, college, pro, streetball, anything player on that team.

 

MC has to get their stuff together or they will be going home early. Terrible free throw shooting really killed them.

 

Who thinks if Elliott fouls Miller like they should have when he got the ball and they were about to start fouling Elliott has a better chance to win. Think about it, put Miller on the line, he was awful from the stripe as it was. He misses the first and he isnt down there to get the tip or the board like he did on the first two. Something to think about.

It wasn't the fouls, it was the no calls that really hurt Elliott's chances. That is not an excuse as to why they lost. With a 7 point lead and less than 3 minutes on the clock, they should've won this game.

Ferguson scored 17 or so points with Miller guarding him. That's a pretty good game. Everyone sitting around me said "foul him!!!" when Miller had the ball late. The calls at the end were crucial but helping off Setty is what really killed Elliott. All he can do is shoot the lights out, so why help off?

Something I forgot to add in my post is that the refs basically destroyed Elliott with some key bad calls and especially on the no calls that you mentioned.

 

I know you're not talking about the refs making bad calls against Elliott? They had the refs wrapped around their finger all night. Everytime Miller touched the ball, he was fouled, but never got the call. The fouls were very lopsided to start the second half. They might have evened out at the end, but the refs weren't a factor against Elliott County.
